While we were walking along the beach resorts, we saw this horizon pool! It was SO cool and SO beautiful. I wanted to jump right in and swim to the edge! The over flowing water flew right into the ocean.
i recently saw the "master pieces" exhibit at the dia featuring over two dozen chess sets from various countries and designers, spanning five centuries. this set was designed by man ray!!! i had no idea he designed a chess set!! the whole exhibit was really amazing!!!
I won an ebay auction for these Timberlake boots designed and autographed by Ringo Starr. So cool!!!
She's known me since junior high and she's STILL my friend! That alone deserves some kind of award.
She amazes me every time I see her or even talk to her on the phone!
She has a soft voice and quiet personality but you never doubt her strength. She never waivers from the path she's on and she never makes you feel you are wrong to be going about life in the opposite direction.
She listens when you talk and she always wants to know more . . . more about what you're doing, where you've been, what you're thinking, what you're hoping for in the future.
She cooks and cleans and bakes muffins. She bakes bread from scratch and kneads it to Buddy Holly music and she has a real job besides.. She gardens and cares for an elderly mom, has a bag packed ready to go help the farm daughter with life during harvest time, cans and freezes, teaches wonderful lessons to the grandkids, makes jam, and performs miracles.
Her farmhouse home, built by her and her charming husband, is one of my favorite hang-outs in rural Minnesota. The glowing floors are rescued wood we all rollerskated on as 4-H members in the town hall when we were kids. The dining room table has a bench on one side to accomodate more bodies than would fit on chairs in the same amount of space . . . just in case a crowd shows up. Conversations around this table are almost always puncuated with genuine and heartfelt bursts of laughter. Across the room a piano with books of music "with words" waits for the next gathering. The other furniture is big and soft and holds you close. And then there's the guest room . . . . the bed with down comforters and feather pillows and the window cracked for fresh air.. The food is always wonderful and wholesome and sometimes a tiny chocolate shows up for dessert..
I've always had hopes of being adopted but I don't think she's taking applications.
She is amazing.
She is my friend.
