This one is for my good flickr friend Wendz Jacinto who requested me to post this...
Between the imposing buildings we discovered green spaces again and again. In this case, a football field.

St Ives Showground is Ku-ring-gai's largest sports and recreation venue with equestrian and dog training rings, soccer field, BMX riding facilities, BBQs and picnic tables. It plays host to numerous events throughout the year, from community markets to dressage competitions, and is also the venue for the annual St Ives Medieval Faire. The Showground is on a popular recreational cycle route and bike racks are available. It is best suited to experienced road cyclists as access includes riding on Mona Vale Road. It is managed by Ku-rin-gai Council. 24171
Just like old cars are passed on in the family so are soccer shoes. Used by many until worn beyond repair. Then, like this one, they are abandoned on the soccer field!

We are fortunate to have two ipê-roxo trees (Handroanthus impetiginosus) bordering our soccer field {football pitch).

Soccer In The Fog...
IN early July there was a slight fog in the park. the kids soccer posts were brilliant against the misty backdrop of the greyed out field a forgotten soccer ball made it an even better image.

We watched the low fog roll in on the foottball field. in 15 minutes it was all white while light was fading away. a fascinating scene.
On a side note, any opportunities are always good to take. we were just bringing the kids to the park, not thinking there would be anything worth photographing.
there's ALWAYS something worth photographing....
Nestled on a tiny island surrounded by the crystal-clear waters of the Norwegian Sea, the unique Henningsvær football pitch
is a one-of-a-kind attraction that will leave any traveler in awe.
In order to create this plan view of the soccer pitch on the whole tiny island, this photo was from three drone shots at a restricted hight limit of 120 metres and stitched together in Photoshop.

Although its team will never get anywhere near the Champions League, Henningsvær is one of the most iconic places to play football on the planet. :-)
The Pleasant View Soccer fields in Boulder are a resting area to hundreds of geese each winter. I've struggled to get a shot of them that I like. I finally got one I'm happy with.
Storm-clouds and sunset
The weather cooled off to unseasonably cooler temps (we are NOT complaining) We went for a couple of nice long walks today before the rains began again.
the sun casts shadows across a flooded court, reflecting the soccer goal and basketball hoop in the still water. The play area, usually alive with the sound of bouncing balls, is momentarily quiet, its activities halted by the puddles that now occupy the space.
Tonight I had an appointment to shoot Pacific United, one of the teams in the Terrace Brier Soccer Club of Lynnwood, Washington which my daughter just so happens to be a member of. The light was that of perfection we normally get here during this time of year....only it was dropping like a stone! After shooting 15 or so individual portraits of the girls, I called the coach over and swung the camera around to see this behind me; it was really too bad the goal that I was using to frame the girls' shot was made of steel and about 400 pounds...
I can't even begin to thank all of you which have left such kind and considerate comments in my stream lately. Even though I'm not hanging around here as much as I'd like, all of you remain faithful to giving a look-see from time to time.
Thank you and may His light shine on all of you...
