SOA using stock Explorer shackles and a Franken Pack made from 3 leaves from an OME-36 springpack and 2 leaves from an f-150. The Spring rate is still too stiff AND more importantly, the rear end is 1.5" too tall.

A very good lecturer, kind professor and advisor. Some aspects of his research sound quite interesting - he's the only person as far as I know to have looked into 万博 (Worlds Fairs, Int'l Expos), though I think it a shame that he chose to focus on issues of fascism and not on the lighter, more colorful and pleasant aspects of cultural exchange, what Japan was trying to teach the world about itself, what the cultural/social environment at the fairs was like...
In any case, while he certainly does a great job at teaching modern history, and I owe a great deal to him in that respect, it is a shame that there is not another lecturer/professor at SOAS doing pre-modern or early modern history. Given the reputation of the School of Oriental and African Studies - best place in Europe for those subjects - one would think that topics would be better covered. Why have such widespread and obscure things as Burmese music and Khmer language and Nigerian religion, which the vast majority of universities do not offer if you don't have something as basic as pre-modern Japanese history, which most other universities do? This is of course not Angus' fault, but I mention it nevertheless.
