Got more snow today and I loved it. Went out in my warmest clothes and walked around in the woods. The quiet really speaks to my soul.

there was a day when I awoke and it had snowed and was still snowing and I quickly went outside and walked and walked and it continued to float down and gradually everything was transformed into a quiet winter wonderland, a day I'll never forget.
This IS a COLOR photo!!!!! The only thing I did was a slight crop to remove some power wires and add a bit of contrast and a white matte in picnik.... Some stunning conditions created by the 'Beast from the East'. I enjoyed a couple of very productive days around Lincolnshire. Here is the first of my offerings. this one will be added to my Heathland project, which you can view here.....

Well, it was a snow-half-a-day actually... my daughter's school closed at lunchtime :)
I was out of my comfort zone with this shot, having swapped my prime lens for the zoom. I'd read an article about taken close-up shots with zooms and thought I'd give it a try. I love the effect... but missed the bigger aperture of the prime lens. Still, I'm going to keep the zoom on the camera for a while and practice!
