This must be underwater love.
I don't have any exciting stories for today =P. I'm cold so I've just been lying in bed with my laptop. Check out the song today, such a good song if you like mellow stuff.
oh oh oh! Fun fact: Fish Cough
I bet you didn't know that! I didn't until my snapple cap told me that like 2 days go..

It saddened me to see the L missing from the Snapple sign. This company was a true New York CIty success story. My favorite flavor, orangeade. My favorite commercial, Wendy the Snapple lady. I don't know who owns and operates it now, but company pride does not seem to be a top priority.

A note on the phone booth: according to what I've read there are only 5 remaining, above ground, accordian doored, telephone booths left in New York City. This one was found and photographed at Yankee Pier on Governors Island. The accordian door and white pages (telephone directory) holder disappeared long ago, but it's telephone is still working. However, it resides behind a locked, chain linked fence.

UPDATE : Winston n'est pas beaucoup mieux mais il recommence à manger
Merci pour vos marques d'attention
Winston is not a lot better, but he eats a little more
Thank you for your concern
There was a big fire in one of the building above. Winston was very interested.
BUT, right now, Winston is not in good shape and health. The medicine given by the vet is not working very well. He eats so little.
Can you have some nice feelings and prayers for him. Because he is not young (15 years old) but I hope he will live some more years

A Snapple car (yeah, you know what I mean) carrying a load is heading east on the B&O at Parkersburg WV in January 1975. The train has just crossed the Ohio River and is descending the approach from the bridge, as seen from 5th St. No photographer listed, JL Sessa collection.
Hot summer day
I drink a Snapple
But if I may
I would rather have and apple
From my garage roof
So dark and hot
An apple from my garage roof
Bottle cap from Snapple peach tea.
I thought it would be easy. Flickr Friday's theme is "Seven" and Macro Mondays' is "Bottle Cap". Just find a 7-Up bottle cap. I could do that before work...
NO ONE HAS BOTTLES OF 7-UP. No one. I couldn't find it anywhere, not in the time I had. So the Best Stuff on Earth had to be the second-best.
Be careful with it. It's not safe when the seal is broken. It apparently becomes a grenade.
yea i had 3 snapples today :]
its like the most refreshing drink ever man
and the bowl was very dirty when i took this :(
and on camera flash, i know eh

Here's a shot I waited 5 hours for...I spent a day driving around Usk Washington searching for Osprey nests. I found several nests but most were pretty difficult to get close enough to for decent photography, but this one was ideal. I found a forestry road that took me up the side of a hill which gave me a "birds eye" (haha) perspective of the nest. Once in place, the watching/waiting game began. I knew that the female (usually) tends to the nest while the male goes fishing. It was pretty cool, he would come back to the next and do a fly-by about every 30 minutes...almost to say "is everything ok?" and they would chatter to each other. Then, he would return to fish. Or maybe he was at the bar, I dunno.
Finally, 5 hours later she started really freaking out...making calls I'd not heard yet...and sure enough, she not only knew it was him on approach but that he was brining home the bacon. He dropped off the fish, stayed for about a minute, and then left again. I watched her tear the fish apart and feed her chicks, very tenderly, carefully. It was quite an experience to witness and worth every minute I had to wait.
Latest Snapple Trivia...
- Bee's have 5 eyes
- Animals that lay eggs don't have belly buttons
- A ball of glass will bounce higher then a ball of rubber
- The average smell weighs 760 nanograms (I think I've created smells much heavier!)
- Mosquitoes are attracted to people who just ate bananas
Now wait a minute...that last one really made me laugh -- I said under my breath as I read it "bullshit!"...as I sat there enjoying a cold Snapple beverage, I itched my dozens of mosquito bites and thought back to the last time I had a banana...many, MANY days prior.
Shooting Tips:
Shooting at night whether in the city or on a beach or from your window can open a whole new world...What I recommend is to use a tripod or monopod when shooting... That's not to say, that you can't handhold your camera and you can always lean on a light pole or any object to help steady your camera...
The first thing I think about is the white balance so that your night shot doesn't have an overall orange cast that I see so often...
Look at what light is illuminating the shot... In this case, it was the florescent light over his head...
Take a couple of shots and look at your screen, to see if you're satisfied with the balance...
The next thing is framing the shot and waiting for what you think makes your shot interesting... In this shot I wanted to have a person to interact with the merchant and the car in the forefront to give an urban city feel to the shot... Remember, shooting at night is about... ISO, White Balance and the clarity or sharpness. You can have some excellent motion blurs and always try to have a interesting focal point in your shot.
This was shot in Nov. 7th. 2006...and the next day I shot My Little World... Nov. 8th. 2006...

Meanwhile, at Jerry's apartment...
"ParCHEESI??"
...laughter...
"Yes, Jerry, PARCHEESI! I told Mr. Scott here... er, Michael, my boss, that you and I were playing Parcheesi tonight!"*
"George..."
"Jerry, it's great to meet you. I told George I was a fan so when he invited me over I couldn't say no!"
"How nice of George..."
...laughter...
"But, Jerry, if you can't play Parcheesi tonight, we understand... and can do something different."
"I don't understand, why wouldn't you guys be able to play Parcheesi?"
"Well, ah, my board is in the shop."
...laughter...
"In the shop??"
"Right. At our last game, George was a bit below par and... you know... broke one of the cheesis."
...laughter...
"I don't understand."
"Neither do I. Not at all. Perhaps George can explain."
...laughter...
"Wait, I do have a question."
"Sure, Michael, what's up?"
"Where is that laughter coming from?"
"Ah, right, right, right, George said you guys don't have a live audience at Dunder Mifflin. Or even a laugh track."
"A laugh track??"
"I told you."
...laughter...
"Welcome to the big leagues, Mikey boy! Well, since Parcheesi is out of the question and, just for reference, will remain out of the question for all future visits..."
...laughter...
"...would you like to have a Snapple? I'd be absolutely fascinated to pick the brain of someone who can actually put up with George as an employee."
...laughter...
"Hm. Well, no, I think I'll be going."
"What? Really? Because we're not playing Parcheesi?"
"It's a great game. I mean, as you would know, since you play it all the time."
...laughter...
"Right! Well, wow, I'm sorry? Maybe George can set up something for us in the future, not at my apartment, and perhaps when I'm busy."
...laughter...
"That sounds good. Well, thank you Jerry and it was really great to meet you. Could I get you to autograph something?"
Oh... sure! What do you have?"
"Nothing. Do you have something?"
...laughter...
"Sure... let me grab a notepad. Should I make it out to you?"
"Only if it's a check. HA! HAHA!!"
"Oh, haha... right..."
...laughter...
...applause...

Manufacturer Dr Pepper Snapple Group
Introduced 1949
Sun Drop, also marketed as Sundrop, is a citrus-flavored soda produced by Dr Pepper Snapple Group. It has a yellowish-green color imparted by Yellow 5. Among soft drinks, it is known for its high caffeine content (63 mg per 12 oz can, 9 mg higher than a 12 oz can of Mountain Dew, but not as much as Vault with 70.5 mg per 12 oz can). Orange juice is an ingredient in the drink, and remaining pulp matter from the orange juice provides some of the soft drink's taste and appearance.
I had nothing in mind for a photo this week and I was reminded of seinfeld and then I had this weird idea. I hope all you seinfeld fans like!!!

PepsiCo (in NYC) owns the rights to 7Up worldwide with the exception that The Dr Pepper Snapple Group in Plano, TX controls the brand in the USA only.
In 2015 PepsiCo released these 6 limited edition cans in other countries that reflect artwork spanning several decades. I wish we could see the same in the US where the artwork actually originated.

Maybe some day The Dr Pepper Snapple Group will wake up and get some fizz back in their marketing. It's pretty flat to non-existent right now in the Unites States.
