View inside the Basilica Cistern (Yerebatan Sarnıcı).
In the distance someone is taking a photograph, like myself they are utilising the handrail instead of a tripod to support the camera.
And so I have a little news tonight. This week I had some of my pictures featured in the latest issue of Snap Magazine, a magazine hipstamatic produces to show off the app.
The mag is free on ipads and iphones and you can view it online also at the below link, which goes straight to my bit. ;-)
Thanks to all of you for your encouragement, support and fantastic comments over the last year and a bit, it means a lot. The words are pretty much the same as the feature I had on a website recently, and the pics come from that group. Snap contacted me after seeing said feature and I was alas a little too busy to do up something fresh, but hey.
I concentrated to the light on the bench, not aware of the man in the tree shadow... so it becomes funny composition.

I often see these, in peoples gardens, on one of my daily walks. They are all homemade.
I'm posting a day early as I'm taking a short break.

While out for a walk in German Mills Settlers Park, I encountered this Common Snapping Turtle (Chelidra serpentina) along the pathway near German Mills Creek. She had just finished laying her eggs and covered these up with soil. I quickly continued and finished my walk, picked up my cameras and drove back in my car. Thankfully the reptile was still near her nest and I shot some photos while she continued along the path, into the grass verge and on to the creek, where she washed her snout and rested for a while.
Saw some just hatched baby snapping turtles trying to make it to the water on a Lake Ontario Beach. It reminded me of baby sea turtles trying to make it to the ocean. Very cool to see!!
I hope everyone enjoys this image! :D
