Something Different, Its all fun / Never Box Yourself In

Visited the much photographed Bow Fiddle Rock in Portknockie only a few hours ago. Surprisingly its only half an hour in the car from my house. With the weather being good and fast moving clouds, I was hoping for some sunset tones and some blurry skies. Also a good excuse for me to try out my new Hi-Tech 10 stop ND filter that Iv had in my kit bag for a few weeks now but no time to test it. I think i'm going to enjoy the 10 stop :-) This was taken 1 1/4 hour before sunset with the moon rising to the right of the camera. All my phone / photography apps paid off with me calculating sun, moon angles and elevation and tide prior to arriving. I used my tiny kit lens for this shot, havent used it in a while but was surprised by how it performed. First time I have used bulb and an ND calculation app for a landscape.

My favourite photo of the St Monans breakwater from my recent trip south. I posted my colour version of this recently called "Bliss" I converted it to Mono on Silver Efex Pro 2. This is the third photo I have posted of this breakwater....unheard for me to post more than one of the same location but its such a good place for a photo that I couldnt help but post another.

On route home from the Scottish Car Show, I was still keen to re visit St Monans to get a shot of the breakwater with the tide higher up. I had intended to be here at high tide but it was gridlock getting the car out of the showstand. Once on the road we nipped upto St Monans relatively fast. It was a comical trip to the zig zag this evening with lots of uncontrollable factors happening infront of the lens. Fisherman, Jet Skis and Lobster boats all nipping in and out of my first few shots. It was surprising how fast the tide seems to go out here as the water level was noticably dropping. Eventually I managed to get a few shots with no distractions. This was taken on a tiny 6" manfrotto tripod, my standard kit lens, Cokin A120 Grad for the sky and my Hi Tech prostop 10. In comparison to my low tide shot of the breakwater from Friday I notice I have composed this shot almost identical. I tried lots of angles and pov but this must please my eye as by coincedence I have went back to almost the same perspective. A most enjoyable shoot and a bonny wee place. I'll be back again im sure :-)

DSC2557-Edit.jpg. Long exposure shot looking towards Great Yarmouth. The sea picking up the different colours in the bright July sun.

On St Patrick's Day, Mum and I headed off for a drive towards the North Coast..... After stopping at the dark hedges outside Ballymoney, we finally arrived in Ballycastle. The sky clouded over a little but I made the most of it with my trusty tripod and variable ND filter and tried a few long exposures.... and then later I performed some HDR surgery on it too LOL

I love how the long exposure smooths out the water and it made me recall the account of how the Lord Jesus calmed the stormy sea when He was in the boat along with His disciples.... hence the text from the Gospel according to St. Mark.

I'm sorry if it seems I've been neglecting you all. I want to thank you again for your comments and support and I promise I'll catch up with you again next week. Wishing you all a very happy and blessed Sunday.

By the way, that's Scotland you can see way way off in the grey distance :)

A beautiful sunset from a recent trip to Saltburn in North Yorkshire.

This was my first visit to Saltburn and cant wait to return. The weather was perfect and the sunset was perfect which made me a very happy lady. :-)

A nice warm shot as I cant wait for summer.

What a 30 sec exposure can do with sunset on the surf!

Black ghosts and mystic atmosphere remind me a little of Noob Saibot character from a video game Mortal Kombat (game from my childhood).

Noob Saibot is a fictional character from the Mortal Kombat fighting game series. He debuted as an unplayable hidden character in Mortal Kombat II, in which he was a black silhouette of the game's other male ninjas, and made his first selectable appearance in the console versions of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. His name consists of the surnames of Mortal Kombat creators Ed Boon and John Tobias spelled backwards.

Enjoy in cool song as always ;D.

P.s. My ghost shape is in the middle and right side of the photo, my friend is on left side. I think place is cool and clouds looks great at that moment. I like broken cement & branch. This photo cost me 0 $ for production & I didn't use Photoshop. This is probably one of most interesting photo from my gallery.

In creating this image, I wanted to capture the very essence of contemplation and silence. I deliberately chose a long exposure to transform the sea into a milky veil, erasing all agitation and creating this impression of suspended time. My intention was to reduce the landscape to its most essential elements - the geometric lines of the fishing huts contrasting with the infinite softness of water and sky.

The reduced, almost monochrome palette, barely touched by the blue notes of the cabins, conveys this search for simplicity and purity. I wanted the viewer to feel this moment of absolute calm, this tipping point where nature and human constructions seem frozen in perfect harmony.

When composing this image, I sought to create a meditative space where the gaze can get lost in the different shades of gray, only anchored by the discreet yet assertive presence of the stilted structures. For me, this photograph is an invitation to slowness and contemplative observation of a maritime landscape reduced to its most minimalist and poetic expression.

Cloudy skies and calm seas. I took a long exposure and the results came out well.

It wasn't a calm sea, in fact quite choppy, but the long exposure has smoothed it. I like how a long exposure makes the people that move around during it look transparent.

The Sunset From Aarah... ... =) beautiful smooth sea.. =) hehe Comments And Criticism Are Most Welcome! =D
