Some images of a test cast of the Protomorph (Xenomorph) Head sculpt and Jaw. Cast was made using smooth-on Smooth Cast 320. I resculpted the teeth of the head as I was not happy with the softness of the detail pulled from the cast. The jaw fits in nicely - more detail shots (profiles) will be shown soon. Once the dome is made, the inner mouth and tendons will be attached to complete the first master. Build update on The Queen - ALIENS - 1:18 scale.

Casts using Smooth-On Smooth Cast 320 resin.

So after my debacle with the two part mold, happy to report that the castings so far have come out quite well!!! Clean as a whistle! A little hiccup on the hod but easily fixed. Made two so far, will make another two (possibly using some pigment) and continue on with the project. Gotta place it on hold though while I prepare to paint the newborn head for Jean-Pierre Jeunet!!! Want to get that completed over the weekend.

Hope my paints haven't all dried up LOL!
