Je l'ai vu sur la carte météo vers 5h du matin au large de Groix, elle semblait se diriger vers Quiberon, mais je n'aurais pas cru que cette nappe de brouillard allait faire ce que j'imaginais. Elle m'a offert un spectacle magique de douceur.

The perspective from my hotel in Delhi with views of two not so iconic activities - smog & traffic! Sorry for the delay but will be back in the Flickrsphere shortly now that I am basking in the glow of the internet - sitting in the lobby of my hotel in Khovd Mongolia after a week in the field - its awesome to be back in one of my favorite countries!
View through the closed hotel window - because of air condition - no exciting sunset in the dust.
Every evening we returned by bus at 7 p.m., just time for dinner and sunset too.

Revisited. View from the observation deck of the new Shanghai Tower, currently the tallest building in Shanghai and the second tallest in the world.
This is the big Huangpu River bend, with the Bund, the mouth of Suzhou Creek and the Shanghai IFC in the lower foreground.
Also note the sharp border of the smog below the city's inversion zone.

An NS C40-8, NS 8308, leads one of the morning southbounds across the FEC drawbridge on a smoggy morning. Around this time in 2011 there were frequent wildfires in Georgia or nearby areas of Florida that would cover the entire city in smog for a few days at a time. This was one of those mornings, making for some interesting scenes. Little would I know that the standard cab Dash 8s were soon to disappear from every major railroad (Except maybe CN). Switched from Lightroom to CaptureOne and it is a case of learning everything over again. The image quality for fuji raw files is so much better but utterly painful switching.

According to internet sources, this morning the particulate matter concentration in the air in Kottayam (PM2.5) is 21.5 µg/m^3. According to WHO guidelines, annual average concentrations of PM2.5 should not exceed 5 µg/m^3, while 24-hour average exposures should not exceed 15 µg/m^3 more than 3 - 4 days per year. I cut my morning walk short.
