When I think of a murder mystery, I always picture a revolver, along with a dagger, a candlestick, and a rope. Even though pistols have replaced revolvers in media, and actual use, the revolver will always have an old-fashioned aura that newer guns just can't match.
For these two shots I used a single light source, taken at night, in the living room so there would be no other ambient light. I like this type of lighting for a darker mood. At first I tried using the 70-200 lens but the lighting was just too low. I wanted to stay with an ISO at 200 or below, to keep the detail, but the tricky part was the balance between shutter speed and depth of field. Given that the camera and lens (24-105) were so close to the subject, I wanted to use a wide DoF, so that more of the gun would be in focus, but that made the shutter speeds so slow that even on the tripod, it was tough to keep it from blurring with the 2 second-plus shutter speeds.
Much better when viewed large.
Yeah... I like these, I think its pretty interesting to see what other ppl have in their bags. This was the bag I took to work on the Friday before a long weekend, breezy.

I used my Canon T2i to take HD video of several shots being fired, then played back the video and selected the best frame to capture this image.

My brothers chest rig by Haley Strategic. He got it about two weeks ago, just got the Holster Wedge in today. He's still waiting on a INCOG holster from G-Code. I used my kydex holster and M&P .40 compact for now. I set it all up for him, easy for him since we're twins and exactly the same size

My brand new Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 380 semi-automatic pistol. Small and lightweight, it fits easily into my pocket. I'd been looking at this one for a while and finally "bit the bullet" and bought it today.
I'll use it for peace of mind when I go out to the desert for my photography. There are a few critters out there I'd just as soon avoid, but it gets a little scary when I'm out there alone... especially at night.
It weighs in at 14.3 ounces fully loaded. AND it has a built in laser sight. Very cool little gun!
The pencil is there for a point of reference... it has lead bullets, but they're erasable.
As seen in the movie, "Escape From LA" this custom Performance Center revolver was the fifth of 100 made. Magna ported and ready for a Bushnell Holographic red dot site. Kurt Russel as Snake Plissken used a pair of these to dispatch multiple opponents in a gunfight in the first part of the movie. Note Magna Port which is slots on top of front of barrel to prevent rise in barrel upon firing. Gases vent upward.
I dare not say how much this costs, ten years ago.

The Smith & Wesson Model 10 is a later version of the turn of the (last) century Military and Police revolver. This one is equipped with a heavy barrel, square butt grip frame and standard width, color - case - hardened hammer and trigger. In the early 1970's, some S&W revolvers had hammers and triggers made from sintered metal which were associated with reports of breakage. Though this was never confirmed, S&W returned to using milled parts as seen on this gun.
Somewhere in this revolver's tenure, someone applied a dull black finish to the topstrap and the top of the barrel. Whoever it was did a nice, neat job and it cuts way down on the glare when shooting on a sunny day.

Did the stippling myself on my 40 compact, Bodyguard 380 and my brothers full size 40. I sometimes get clammy hands when its warm out and I'm shooting. The stippling takes that element away. Gives me a concrete grip when I'm shooting.
Did a trigger guard undercut on my compact 40 and his full size. Lets you have a slightly higher grip when firing the handgun.
My compact 40 is my winter carry and my 380 is my summer carry. Usually will rock my 40 out the waistband in a custom kydex holster with a jacket (North face) over it. Not a fan of complete open carry, don't like to show the world i have a gun strapped to my belt. Summer carry is easier, normally will have it inside the waistband in a hybrid (half kydex/half leather) holster in the 1 o' clock position.
