Pentax-A 50mm f1.7 lens eye. The photo was taken with the pentax 1.7 (the lens seen in the eye) and the other photo was taken with a chinon 50mm F1.7 prime, then the two photos blended for the effect
K-Mount. This was a lens that I had originally owned. I remember this as being a very versatile lens. So I've re-acquired some of the same lenses that I had originally owned. Just for the nostalgia - and it does bring a smile to my face. Some dust and slight fungus on this copy. Magenta fringing in bright light. Luckily I still had my original lens hood specific to this lens.
I've had the lens dismantled and serviced. The fungus has been cleaned, however, the haze is between two lens elements and not able to be removed.
So the lens has lots of internal flare when shot into the light.
However, works well as a macro lens.
I'd also purchased this lens to digitise the hundreds of slides and 35mm negatives from my film days.
Results were good, though just couldn't get the grain as sharp as I would like.
So next I tried some enlarger lenses. Such as EL-Nikkor 80mm f5.6. This was better.
However, I now just purchased a new 1:1 Macro lens.
So if you are marvelling at the sharpness of the pictures of my actual vintage lenses..
These were taken with the extraordinary Rikenon 60mm f2.8 1:1 Macro lens.
The image of the Rikenon lens, was taken by the Pentax 100mm Macro.
So judge for yourself.

The Small Magellanic Cloud in the constellations of Tucana and Hydrus.
One of the gems of the southern sky, much envied by those in the northern hemisphere.
The Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC) is a dwarf galaxy near the Milky Way. Classified as a dwarf irregular galaxy, the SMC has a diameter of about 18,900 light-years), and contains several hundred million stars. It has a total mass of approximately 7 billion solar masses. At a distance of about 200,000 light-years, the SMC is among the nearest intergalactic neighbours of the Milky Way and is one of the most distant objects visible to the naked eye.
