Global Climate action: lights off at 8.30 pm for 1 hour
EARTH HOUR is a global event organized by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature, also known as World Wildlife Fund) and is held on the last Saturday of March annually, asking households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights and other electrical appliances for one hour to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change. Earth hour was conceived by WWF and The Sydney Morning Herald in 2007, when 2.2 million residents of Sydney participated by turning off all non-essential lights. Following Sydney's lead, many other cities around the world adopted the event in 2008. Earth Hour 2010 will take place on March 27, 2010 from 8:30 P.M. to 9:30 P.M., local time. Earth Hour 2010 is reportedly on track to become the largest Earth Hour yet, aiming to garner more than the one billion participant goal of 2009's Earth Hour. 121 countries have signed up for Earth Hour 2010

Travel bug for the good cause of Rita's Kleine Schritte in Malawi.
And yes, unfortunately there's a leather strap fixed to the pendant. :( It's what they use to make a necklace out of it in the Malawi village I got it from (as a present).

Thanks to a podcast at www.createmixedmedia.com/ by Ricë Freeman-Zachery where she interviewed art therapist Karen Wallace, I started thinking about why I really hadn't been doing anything in my studio lately. So for a short while I ignored the cleaning, laundry, cooking and all the other things I usually do on my day off, and spent time in my studio. At first just tidying, sorting and looking through ribbons and buttons and stuff. Then I spent some time reading my journal. Then, I let the creative muse take over, put on some music, and had some fun. It's been a while, but I feel like I have lots of new ideas and will make the time to play some more.
