Most of the complex commuter traffic is done by the type Sm5 EMUs. Their active work helps to keep the city of Helsinki alive, especially during the rush hour when the majority of the citizens need to get back to home.

40 years have now passed since the SBG Reorganisation of 1985 and the 7 operating companies were split into 11 smaller ones. The 4 new companies Clydeside Scottish, Kelvin Scottish, Lowland Scottish and Strathtay Scottish were set up on 17 June 1985.

Strathtay Scottish took over the Tayside operations of Midland and Northern with its headquarters in Dundee and a new livery of french blue and marigold.

Strathtay SM5 was ULS 633X one of eight MCW Metrobuses inherited with Midland's Perth depot and seen here on Kinnoull Street in Perth heading to North Muirton in June 1986.

Sun is setting in the capital city of Helsinki, and the shadows in the urban areas are coming stronger as we go towards the night. But in the darkening atmosphere, the movement of the evening can be seen as commuter trains are doing train job bringing passanger to their homes.

Samsung cars were sold here between 1998 and 2015, they were all basically Nissan models built by Samsung in Korea and sold in Renault dealerships. The SM5 was based in the Teana.

Two new Sm5 Flirt EMU trains (#76 and #75), on a test run leaving from Seinäjoki to Helsinki.

The first I've seen outside of Lebanon! However I'm expecting quite a few on my next trip

A commuter train to Helsinki-Vantaa airport is leaving the Malminkartano underground station during middle of the night.

Quite a bit more battered than most SM5s in Beirut, which mostly seem to be well kept somehow

With old South-Korean License Plates

Not a car I expected to see, these are basically Nissan Maximas remade under license in South Korea

An old fisherboat I shot on my trip through Brighton. It's quite nice there in late summer!

There was a noticeable increase in abandoned cars in Beirut compared with 2017 when I hardly saw any

It is the very first time I saw & spotted a Samsung vehicles in China (and the first time of my life).

Samsung never sold vehicles in China, but produces most Renault sold in China.

I saw in this car repair shop 3 Korean cars : this SM5, a SsangYong Actyon and a very interesting SsangYong Chairman (published asap).

Built 1685-1700 by Edward Carleton on or near the earlier manor house of Old Farm. Partly rebuilt 1718-21, architect prob. Henry Joynes, for John Fellowes. Became a school in the mid-C19 and the house is now part of St Philomena’s Girls' School. Grade II* listed. Carshalton, London Borough of Sutton.

ULS633X was an MCW Metrobus DR102/28 / Alexander RL Type H45/33F purchased new by Midland Scottish as their MRM33 in May 1982. As it was a Perth based bus it was transferred to Strathtay in June 1985 with the depot and was unloading in Mill Street, on the service to Upper Letham.
