Private Richard Kerr, an Army Reserve soldier from A Company, 9th Battalion Royal Queensland Regiment (A Coy, 9RQR), works up a sweat as he tackles the huge task of clearing sludge and mud from a major intersection in West End, Brisbane. 9RQR are assisting the Queensland emergency services as part of Operation Queensland Flood Assist, the Australian Defence Force 's commitment to the flood relief effort.
Australian Defence Force personnel from 9th Battalion Royal Queensland Regiment, 25/49 Battalion Royal Queensland Regiment and the 1st Signal Regiment, are supporting the Queensland Emergency Services by providing assistance to the flood-affected population of Brisbane. This support is being provided as part of the Australian Defence Force commitment to Operation Queensland Flood Assist. Tasks undertaken by the Reservists include road clearances, delivery of food to those cut-off by floodwaters, removal of water-damaged home contents, provision of first aid, route reconnaissance and assisting with the transport of emergency services personnel.

Sludge is the first decent Classics version of the Transformers Dinobot from Generation 1. Produced by the third-party called Fansproject, he's roughly voyager class sized. Pictured in his dinosaur or Apatosaurus mode.
Officially called Columpio (LER-01), he came packaged with a little mini-figure called Drepan (not pictured).
Sludge's neck has tons of ball joints and can be rotated and posed multiple ways. His jaw can open too, and overall he's very expressive in his dinosaur mode. The instructions say this is his Tanystropheus mode.
I'm looking forward to the rest of the Dinobot crew from FP.

Right nearby is Lake Michigan, Waukegan beach recreation area, downtown Waukegan, parks, schools, playgrounds and neighborhoods.
Demographics of the three mile area near the plant: average income $16,197; population of 67,776 people; 72.1% Latino; 18.7% African American.

Health costs in human terms every year from this plant alone: 34 deaths, 54 heart attacks, 570 asthma attacks, 25 hospital admissions, 25 chronic bronchitis episodes, and 35 ER admissions for asthma attacks.
The company says that "it believes it is demonstrating environmental responsibility, and that it is being targeted unfairly.

Many of you may know the marine lake in Weston super Mare: a site for boating and safe swimming. However, because it is fed by the tides of the river Severn a large amount of sludge accumulates over the years, as shown by this early 1980s photograph of that sludge being removed and returned to the river and sea.
Presently, NYC-DEP Marine Section uses three sludge vessels (Newtown Creek, North River & Owls Head) for the transportation of liquid sludge from wastewater treatment plants without dewatering capabilities.

Ultimate Sludge
Sludge normally loves to get dirty in mud and tar pits, but I was fortunate to catch him after a bath. Sludge was built using an original Generation 1 figure, but mixed in with a variety of parts, giving sexy and nice articulation. I also gave him some eyeballs.
Sludge's articulation : At his shoulders (via ball joints), elbows (hinge joints), hands/wrists (hinge) hips (ball joints) knees (hinge joints) and head (peg)
Sludge was base coat painted with House of Kolors and detailed with Testors Model Masters (enamel) This version of the Dinobots, I went with a more metallic gold rather than the cartoonish yellow-gold used on the last set.
Corporal Lindsay Allan hoses away the last remaining mud and sludge from outside a market stall at the Brisbane Markets in Rocklea. Corporal Allan is from D Company, 9th Battalion Royal Queensland Regiment (D Coy, 9 RQR) in Maryborough and is currently Acting Platoon Sergeant.
Australian Defence Force personnel from D Company, 9th Battalion Royal Queensland Regiment (D Coy, 9 RQR), assisted with the huge clean-up effort at the Brisbane Markets in Rocklea. Soldiers who had travelled to Brisbane from different locations around the state, worked to remove rotting food and flood-damaged debris as well as hose down and sanitise shopfronts and fence lines.
A storeroom was also established to enable civilian volunteers to collect safety equipment such as high-visibility vests, safety glasses and dust masks. Over the past two days supplies were issued to over 1,000 civilian and Defence volunteers to ensure Australian Standards of Occupational Health and Safety were achieved.
The Brisbane Markets supply 80% of Queensland’s fresh produce and it is essential that the clean-up is completed to the standards required by Brisbane City Council and Queensland Health Departments.
Members of the Australian Navy, Army and Air Force are serving as part of Operation Queensland Flood Assist to support the Queensland Government in dealing with the flood emergency that confronted the state during December 2010 and January 2011.

Opening Act of Mastodon’s concert in Milan, Big Business.
Big Business is a stoner metal/sludge metal band from Seattle who are currently signed to Gold Metal Records.
Big Business started as a two piece band composed of Jared Warren of Karp and The Tight Bros From Way Back When, and Coady Willis of Murder City Devils. Their sound has been characterized as a bombastic and frantic low end attack, marked by Warren's signature vocal delivery. The band released its first album, "Head for the Shallow", on January 25, 2005.
In late 2006, after relocating to Los Angeles, Jared and Coady both became members of The Melvins, first appearing on "(A) Senile Animal". The tour, titled "the Double-Drumming Rock for Peace tour", featured Warren and Willis playing a set as Big Business before being joined by Crover and Osborne for a set as the Melvins. While on tour, Big Business played with David Scott Stone who would later play guitar and Minimoog Voyager on all songs from their 2007 release "Here Come the Waterworks".
After releasing Here Come the Waterworks to critical acclaim, Big Business was given an opening spot on the summer leg of the Tool tour. Toshi Kasai played guitar for Big Business throughout this tour.
After the fall US tour ended, Big Business started recording material for the new Melvins album, entitled "Nude With Boots", which was released on July 8, 2008.
On March 9, 2008 Toshi Kasai was introduced onstage as the third member of Big Business. Both the band and Toshi verified this on their respective Myspace pages. Big Business released their third album "Mind the Drift" on May 12, 2009.
In October, 2010 after a year of not playing shows, they posted on their myspace that they had added another guitarist Scott Martin (400 Blows, Crom), officially making them a "Power Quartet".

The SMax sludge screen offers superior performance in terms of capture rates and rag removal when compared to any other sludge screens on the market.
Scattered all about the offices were records, invoices, and time cards. This pile of "Daily Report" cards were employee time cards where the employee wrote down what they did on a certain day, what shift, and how long they did it. This batch of cards dated to the early 1970s.

Essex Wharf, E5. British Waterways are dredging the Lee Navigation , using this planning application site for offloading the sludge from barges into Scania tippers working for Clwyd Transport of Wrexham (!) who have been very active in East London for the past few years. This is ostensibly to improve water quality. However, it is known that a lot of house extensions in the Stamford Hill area have non-standard methods of disposal of foul waste into storm water drains. Therefore it seems the symptoms are being treated, not the cause.
Where the excavators are working may be seen rail lines in the cobbles, the end of a branch from the former GER main line at Temple Mills which served the Metropolitan Water Works on the Essex bank behind the "Red House" behind the bridge.
The old dock is actually in the Borough of Waltham Forest, which has just refused planning permission for a very large development on this site, but the developers will be back as sure as night follows day.
Behind the former warehouse, to have been demolished in the plans, the Lea Valley Ice Rink. (warehouse demolished in Nov 2009)
