"My face above the water

And my feet can't touch the ground

Touch the ground, and it feels like

I can see the sands on the horizon

Every time you are not around

I'm slowly drifting away (drifting away)

Wave after wave, wave after wave

I'm slowly drifting (drifting away)

And it feels like I'm drowning

Pulling against the stream

Pulling against the wave"

We're too young to drown deep in dirty waters

Full of hopeless doubt, let me pull you out

Let me hold you now, let me slow it down ♡

Who among us that shoot moody urban photos can resist a ghastly looking parking garage? They're so cinematic that hardly a film made in the city doesn't invariably end up with a dimly lit car park scene for a car chase or shoot-out, or both. Perhaps it's low-hanging fruit for filmmaker and photographer alike, but... As I said, how could I resist? Seen in the Docklands region of central Dublin.

Even though I was just scouting this view at the time, I could not leave here without taking a shot. I envisioned vertical orientation for this scene; however a horizontal composition would include more of the top of the falls. Therefore, I decided to attach my B&W 110 filter, and attempt a long exposure. My intention was to add a surreal effect to this daytime capture, by turning the waterfall into slow motion mist.

While most of the northern states, and Canadian Provinces have already had their first snowfall of the year, the coastal region of BC has been blessed with positive temperatures and near constant rainfall instead. In spite of this, I set off this past weekend to shoot the Fraser Canyon. Train activity was quite slow for a Saturday morning, so I was forced to pivot from my plan to stay on the 'CP' side of the canyon, and instead go wherever the traffic was moving.

After hearing that I would have an extended drought of eastbounds running up the Cascade Sub, I headed over to the Yale Sub to wait for the next westbound departing Boston Bar. A new location that was on my list, was on the east side of the Chapman's Bar Tunnel. Credit for figuring out this location goes to Ryan A, who shot a great scene here a week prior. (Thanks Ryan!)

Is there anything more iconic than a canoe framed in the blue water, surrounded with trees? When this opportunity presented itself, the chance to capture the situation was absolutely ideal. The colours were in place, and the position of the sun, was just right. It all delivered a terrific story about this place.

A pleasant way to travel in the form of a canoe, and a pleasing background to view.

A Tricolored Heron relaxes by the waters.

I can smile and even laugh, and although love has come knocking at my door, still in my soul there is this unfilled void, this lack of you.

So sometimes I slow down, I take the time to breathe, to feel you maybe, and find the strength to go on...

This abstract landscape represents transformations, travels and transcendency. Everything is connected and moving by the element of water. The horizontal water level is crossed by the verticals of the growth and direction of vapor. The concentric transparent-darkening pots may remind you to edge of the drying puddles....or the coffee lines left on the side of your cup, after every sip.

The trees are the ones who connect.

I'd rather let you look at the painting and put yourself into it. Have a wonderful journey exploring!

So I have booked a few days off work and thought a trip to Newborough Beach was in order. I have recently invested in a Hoya ND8 filter, I have the ND110 but sometimes 10 stops is just too much and you lose some of the motion. This shot was taken with a strong grad filter on the sky too; the grad filter really helps balance the metering between land and sky, something that is often hard to manage.

Of course you can take a series of shots and merge the exposures together later but getting it into one shot feels better to me.

This shot was taken at the far end of Llanddwyn Island.

As always thanks for looking and comments are always very much appreciated.
