Lunch stop, Elinbank church, "The Slog"

Trekkers slogging up a near vertical climb approaching the Salkantay Pass (14,895 ft) on their way to Machu Picchu.

A steep, slog up the grassy hillside (I abandoned the normal route, and chose a direct path between the end of the LRT and the summit to create a circuit). This probably made things difficult for myself, but it was a fine challenge.

Stob Binnein has a peculiar craggy crown that I was disheartened to see as I wheezed up towards the top.

This was a 5 day/4 night backpack in the remote northeast section of this fine BC park. We drove up the Texas Creek FSR and then ascended neer Mt. Russell and traversed to Brimful Lake on Day 1. Photo taken in Stein Valley Nlaka'pamux Heritage Provincial Park, British Columbia, Canada.

packs to the lunch spot

Endless slogging road back to the car. The car is parked at the base of the farthest snowy chute in the background.

Su Slogan Bastante Publicitado:

"Soy una Sailor Scout que lucha por el amor y la justicia, soy Sailor Moon y te castigare en el nombre de la Luna"

Heavy wet snow made the 12 mile hike in feel like running a half-marathon while pulling a dead body in a sled behind you.

The Everglades are the main source of fresh drinking water for southern Florida. We were walking in fresh clear water (not salty). The bottom was soft and sandy. There is firm limestone about 4-8 inches under the sediment. We were required to have a type of shoe with closed toes "just in case." The bugs were not as much of a problem as our marsh in the summer.
