Second go, and I got chased away by the rain.
But finally, today conditions were on my side.

Small Easter-tailed Blue butterfly taking nectar from a tiny field Daisy.
Common. Easy to overlook. This butterfly is about the size of your little fingernail.
With winter definitely here and Christmas fast approaching I thought I would share one of my winter images to hopefully put a smile on peoples faces.
This bull elk was munching on some willow branches. The day before he was digging through the snow for some grass. I imagine it is pretty slim pickings this far into winter.
During the frigid cold this winter, the ground was packed with a thick layer of ice and there was not much on the menu for this buck.

Sometimes less is more but I'm pretty sure spiders would struggle with that concept! It's tough out there at this time of year but I'm glad that somehow they find a way to survive.
