Happy Caturday

Still under the weather; I will return on a more daily basis soon.

Thanks L for letting me photograph baby M, sleeping beneath the shade of her mama…

I was in Salzburg for a baby-shooting. He slept so sweet in the garden of my cousin ♥

I had a newborn session today, meet baby Ava. She was such a joy to photograph, nice and sleepy! I don't usually share my newborn shoots on flickr because I feel like a little fish swimming with the SHARKS, if I had any extra moola I would sigh up for Kelly Ryden's newborn workshop in a second.

her new favorite place is the mirror~~she gets to hang out with the only cat she really likes.

Baby's mama brought along these patterned blankets she had made. I love color and pattern and like to always do one birght and fun setup for each newborn session.

Meet my granddaughter! Madeline Rose was born on 2/10 to my daughter Kiara and her husband.

Mommy and baby came through the experience just fine.

Something tells me that there MIGHT be a few baby pictures in the photo stream in the near future...

Well yes...another sleepy baby shot from me, lol! This setup was my "signature shot" back in the days before I left Flickr. Well now he is 23 months yes, we're still doing sleeping sessions. Crazy, huh?! My original "The Three Little Bears" shot was one of my more popular ones so I thought I'd give it another go, lol ;) NEARLY 1 year later! Here's the original idea behind this..with sligtly different props www.flickr.com/photos/freezethemomentphotography/43911374... I might upload a few more from the session later.

Omygoodness this baby girl was the sweetest, she was so good to me! She slept solid for 3hrs, we change her multiple times, put her in all sorts of poses and she never made a peep!

Sweetie pie Colton... sleeping like... well... a baby. :) Natural light

She was such an absolute doll, this is one of my faves :) I had this baby bunny hat made for me by my friend Deanne of Gittinknittywidit on Etsy. You can find her at www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=7464889 .

Coffee sound asleep..

This is a picture I took and had fun with graphically of my granddaughter shortly after she was born. I don't have very many outstanding photos of her in the hospital because, when she was born, her lungs didn't open up since she was born in such a high altitude. As a result, she was hooked up to many wires and IVs and taped down to some little boards. It was all so terribly sad to watch in the video our son, her daddy, took of it all.

I was unable to go in and see her because I had a small fever at the time. Her mother just had her through C-section and was pretty messed up because of it. At first the nurses weren't even going to let her see her dear little daughter, but one had complete mercy on us. She sneaked me around the hospital as though we were on Mission Impossible, bobbing our heads in here and out there, so that I could at least get a peek at my first grandchild through the glass window of the door into the special nursery. This wonderful nurse didn't stop there. She had my daughter-in-law wheeled in on her gurney so that she and her baby could be together during those first few precious moments.

It was all so much that I just cried and cried. The nurses thought I was sad because I couldn't see her or hold her, but that wasn't it. It was everything combined. I was especially so relieved that my daughter-in-law was O.K. and a little scared that my sweet baby granddaughter wasn't going to make it though she did. Her lungs opened up about a day later, if I remember correctly. We were all so relieved and nearly collectively sighed.

Seriously, I had been such a basket-case before she was born while getting ready to go to the hospital that I actually found myself at the hospital wearing mismatched shoes. My oldest son was the one who had to tell me... They were the same type of shoe, but one was black and one was brown. LOL! If you knew me, you'd know this was a once in a lifetime deal! My husband was so loving and understanding that he went home to get the matching shoe. Then when it started to get rough, I guess the flood gates let loose.

Anyway, I took a photo I had taken of her when they brought her home and superimposed it on this rose that I borrowed from Mark Charneski and then added everything else. If you'd like to know how I did it, feel free to drop me a line. It would be my pleasure to share how.

When I looked at this picture, I was reminded of Psalm 139:13-16 which states quite clearly that God saw each of us as a whole person before we each took a first breath. After seeing this little one when she was first born along with my grandson who came a little later that year, I'd have to say unequivocally that I agree. Here is the passage as a whole:

You created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. (Psalm 139:13-16, 1984 NIV)
