There are two viaducts between Buxted and Crowbrough. Sleeches and Greenhurst. There are times when photographing trains its nice to put something else in the frame to up the interest value, sometimes the something over dominates, i fear this is the case here.
Perhaps theres a pillbox site where this would look good with a passing train in the distance.

One of the attractions at this years Spa Valley Rlys diesel gala. No 33 ex 1133 drifts down between Crowbrough and Buxted on an afternoon working. The unit has just left Crowbrough tunnel and will soon cross the 11 arch Sleeches Viaduct followed by the 10 arch Greenhurst Viaduct, so quiet a highly engineered line through this section.
Theres two viaducts and a tunnel between Buxted and Crowhurst on the Uckfield Line this is Sleeches Viaduct and has 11 arches the other being the 10 arch Greenhurst Viaduct. Amazing to think the Victorians worked so hard to cross the Weald and yet todays public transport may muster a mini-bus if your lucky.
