The Siuslaw River ( sy-YOO-slaw) is about 110 miles (177 km) long, that flows to the Pacific Ocean coast of Oregon. It drains an area of about 773 square miles (2,000 km2) in the Central Oregon Coast Range southwest of the Willamette Valley and north of the watershed of the Umpqua River.
It is part of the homeland of the Siuslaw people, after whom it is named. Citizens of the Siuslaw nation lived in villages along the river until 1860 when they were forcibly removed to an Indian reservation in Yachats whereupon their homes, farms, gardens and villages were destroyed and occupied by U.S. settler-colonists.
The river has historically been a spawning ground for Chinook and coho salmon.

It flows generally west-northwest through the mountains, entering the Pacific at Florence. The head of tide is 26 miles (42 km) upstream.

The valley of the river has been one of the productive timber regions in Oregon. The lower course of the river passes through Siuslaw National Forest.
The river has historically been a spawning ground for Chinook and coho salmon. The estuary of the river is surrounded by extensive wetlands that are a significant habitat for migratory birds along the coast. It is one of the very few Western Oregon rivers where all major forks are undammed.

Chloe's Eatery near Cleves, Ohio is a delightful place. I had the Smoked Pulled Pork with Carolina Mustard BBQ Sauce, Southern Slaw, Pickled Pig Dill Pickle and sweet potato chips....Yum
Pulled Mole Chicken on a brioche roll accompanied by chipotle mayo slaw with paprika sweet potato fries. This was the second night of this -- I forgot to take a picture the first time. It tasted just as good, but the fries looked better the first night.
Like a graffiti'd gateway: overgrown ruins of the former Decatur Waterworks.
DeKalb County (Clairmont Heights), Georgia, USA.

***************
â–¶ Completed in 1907, the Decatur Waterworks once treated water from the South Fork Peachtree Creek and Burnt Fork Creek for drinking water for the city of Decatur, Georgia. During World War II the facility was used as the exclusive water supply for the Naval Air Station that is now Peachtree-DeKalb Airport and an Army hospital in the area. The waterworks were abandoned in the late 1940s and are now in disrepair, partially overgrown, and covered with graffiti.
The entire Decatur Waterworks area has been added to the National Register of Historic Places, due to its former industrial significance as a waterworks, its political importance during the Great Depression as a Works Progress Administration (WPA) project, and its use then and now, again, as a public park.

North Carolina chopped barbecue, chips, cole slaw, pickles, and sweet tea. To the stranger who tried to tell me Carolina bbq is terrible.....just zip it, lololol !!!!! One of my favourite foods and I only get it when I come home.
Broccoli Slaw ... I regularly buy this colourful mix of red cabbage, broccoli stems, and carrots. Sometimes I mix it with coleslaw. Most often I add it to tossed green salads for extra crunch. And if I'm making a stir-fry or a soup, I toss a handful in.

My brother who lives in Maine had a fine garden, including cabbage. Another brother volunteered to cut the cabbage head up for slaw.
