It was established as Queen's College (in honour of Queen Victoria) in 1841, by the PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH of Canada in association with the Church of Scotland. Classes began on 7 March 1842 in a rented building with two professors and 10 students.

There is a lot of information ranging from different types of fungus to the life of an otter. Along the tree top excursion you can continually be educated about the surrounding environment. Ground trails are well maintained and are clearly marked when trails outside of the center intersect them. The parking lot is spacious and hard topped; easy to traverse. 11

Allan Gardens Conservatory is over 100 years old with a garden-filled greenhouse that covers over 16,000 square feet. This garden is open to the public year-round. It contains tropical plants from all over the world from palm trees to cacti. There are also seasonal plantings throughout the year.

The (Old) Orangeburg County Jail, also known as The Pink Palace, is a historic jail located at Orangeburg, Orangeburg County, South Carolina. It was built between 1857 and 1860, and is a two-story, rectangular, cement-covered brick building in the Late Gothic Revival style. It features a crenellated main tower and corner turrets. General William Tecumseh Sherman’s troops burned the building in February 1865; it was subsequently restored.
It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.[1]
Orangeburg County inmates are now kept in the Orangeburg-Calhoun Regional Detention Center.

The design for the Japanese Garden was conceived in 1970, construction started in 1971 and it was completed in 1974. It represents a gentle, horticultural gesture of sister ship between two sister cities, Buffalo and Kanazawa, Japan. Located on 6 acres along Delaware Park’s Mirror Lake, the original design contained over 1,000 plantings, nearly 20 globe-type lights, three small islands connected to the mainland by bridges.

Hidden almost out of sight, just off the Huron Street bridge in downtown Stratford, Ontario lies the Shakespearean Gardens. This well manicured English garden offers a formal setting with boxwood hedges,stone walkways, benches and gazebo yet comes alive with the brilliant colour of an amazing array of flowers, herbs, shrubs and trees.
The views from the garden are just as impressive with the historic Perth County Courthouse to one side and the gently flowing Avon River on the other side. Stone steps and a pathway along the Avon River lead you underneath the old Huron Street bridge and towards the Shakespeare Festival. 269

It is a former estate garden featuring annuals, roses and wildflowers and an extensive rockery. It is located on Wilket Creek, one of the tributaries of the Don River West Branch. The estate's title was once held by Alexander Milne, a Scottish weaver who settled here after the War of 1812 and left in 1832. The land and the woolen/saw mills was obtained by Rupert E. Edwards in 1944 and created his country home. Edwards home was left in neglect and was purchased by the Municipality of Metro Toronto in 1955 and became Edwards Gardens in 1956.

Sonnenberg Gardens, also known as Sonnenberg Gardens and Mansion State Historic Park, Canandaigua, New York, USA, at the North end of Canandaigua Lake, in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York. The house and gardens are open to the public every day, May through October.
The property was once the summer home of Frederick Ferris Thompson, a prominent banker in New York City, and his wife Mary Clark Thompson, whose father, Myron Holley Clark, was Governor of New York State in 1855. The Clark family was from Canandaigua, NY. Mr. & Mrs. Thompson's main home was in NYC in a large townhouse on Madison Avenue. The Thompsons purchased the Sonnenberg property in 1863, keeping the name, Sonnenberg (which means "sunny hill" in German). In 1887, they replaced the original farmhouse with a forty-room Queen Anne style mansion. The property also had a 100-acre farm to the east. Sonnenberg's gardens were designed and built between 1902–1919, and originally consisted of nine gardens in a variety of styles.
