Upcoming construction

Actually the Gran Costanera building works (tower designed by Cesar Pelli architecture office) are faster than ever, considering recent news that Cencosud holdings (owner of the tower) decided acelerate rythm of construction.

Last week the GC building was at 36th. floor.

Construcción en camino

La torre Gran Costanera, parte del megaproyecto "Costanera Center" avanza a pasos agigantados con tal de alcanzar antes del tiempo estimado su puesta en marcha. Tal como comentaban algunos medios de comunicación meses atrás en dónde CENCOSUD S.A. (Uno de los tres mayores minoristas de América Latina y también firma duena del proyecto) decidió imprimir un mayor ritmo de trabajo a través de la constructora Salfa, quién es el ejecutor del proyecto.

Hasta la semana pasada la obra llevaba ya 36 pisos de altura (a esta semana es probable que ya se encuentre en el piso 37) de 70 contemplados.

Tout près de la statue de Jan Van Eyck, Skyscraper (the Bruges Whale) surgit soudain du canal. Cette gigantesque sculpture est bien plus qu’une simple représentation d’une baleine : elle est en effet réalisée à partir de déchets provenant de la fameuse « soupe de plastique » qui dérive dans les mers et les océans du monde entier. Avec l’aide de volontaires du Hawaii Wildlife Fund et de la Surfrider Foundation, StudioKCA a écumé les plages de Hawaï afin d’y récupérer les déchets. L’installation montrée à Bruges est faite de ces « trouvailles ». StudioKCA veut ainsi attirer l’attention sur la problématique de la pollution, qui nous concerne tous, et amener les spectateurs à prendre conscience que chacun doit agir à son niveau.

Close to the statue of Jan Van Eyck, Skyscraper (the Bruges Whale) suddenly emerged from the canal. This gigantic sculpture is more than just a representation of a whale: it is indeed made from waste from the famous "plastic soup" that drifts in the seas and oceans around the world. With the help of volunteers from the Hawaii Wildlife Fund and the Surfrider Foundation, StudioKCA has scoured the beaches of Hawaii to collect waste. The installation shown in Bruges is made of these "finds". StudioKCA wants to draw attention to the problem of pollution, which concerns us all, and to make the audience realize that everyone must act at their level.
