Whoever loves simple things like a bird, a star, a wild flower, a small island he always sees beautiful dreams and the world becomes handsome as beyond his sleep as behind his closed eyes as in his most unknown smile.
This lighthouse sits at the far north end of Skopelos and as we sail round its tip we have a great view of it.
I have heaven knows how many shots like this as we enter the Harbour of Skopelos Town, but it's one that never ceases to amaze as the Town rises steeply up the hillside. Built deliberately to confuse any invading forces back in the day as this area was rife with pirates and other ne'er-do-wells!

For the first time in 3 years we're finally able to start travelling again. Just a nice relaxing holiday to Skiathos. As we make the final approach we fly over the neighbouring island of Skopelos, and if you look carefully, you can see the church used in the filming of Mama Mia!
For those of you who don't know, Skopelos is the island where most of Mama Mia! was filmed. Unfortunately not the sequel, that went to Croatia .. booo!
Europe, Greece, Thessaly, Aegean, Northern Sporades, Skopelos town (Chora) (uncut)
The 2nd one of a series about the fascinating character of Greek urbanization, often hemmed in by the sea and draped over mountains and valleys.
The ruin of a Venetian castle adds a fine historical context here.
This is number 10 of the Skopolos album and 8 of Greek urbanization in its natural context album.
