I took Chase down to the river for sunset last night and we were practicing skipping rocks.

3 skips and you're good. 5 skips and you're a pro. I wonder if there's a league of rock skippers? I wouldn't doubt it.

Mendenhall lake, west bank. Glacial silt acts like silver behind glass and makes a still lake turn into a mirror of the fantastic landscape around it.

This shot was taken behind the Athabaska Falls in Jasper National Park. We were watching the rafters go by and this kid started skipping stones in the river. Such a beautiful day to see a sight like this.

his turn to point the damned thing at us for once :)

s wearing penny loafers whilst tromping through the muck. OF COURSE.

When I took this shot, I didn't have a tripod with me so I had to set the delay, place the camera on the sand, take the picture then run out in front of the camera and try to throw at the right time. The sun was only out for a couple of minutes so I had to hurry. I think this was my 5th try. If you look just to the left of the sun, you can see the stone flying through the air.

skipping rocks

This was as beautiful in real life as I think it is in this photo. I often like to go to this spot and take photos of my children. The light is so beautiful that time of day and the reflection of the water on their skin... ooooohhhh, it's just beautiful! Actually, my little girl was standing behind her brother in this orginal photo, but she just didn't really fit well in this photo, so I erased her and her shadow... I almost forgot that she was actually in the picture. I LOVE photoshop!
