I have seen quite a few of these skippers in the last few days on many of my colorful flowers. They have long tails and a lovely greenish body.
I took this September... When I couldn't hike what I wanted to, my friend and I hoped in the car and headed to Moraine Lake. A few weeks ago, I posted what the lake look like before skipping stones in the lake. This is actually my favourite image from the day as it reminds me of a song released back in 2004 (or 2005) by Rise Against... Swing Life Away. A song written about a few people they met on tour while in Lake Louise.
For those who are unfamiliar with the Lake Louise road, Moraine Lake is an 11Km (or so) detour from Lake Louise itself.

A typical scene during "fiesta mayor" celebrations in Catalonia for years has been the very popular Correfoc (fire runs). Evolved from a medieval practice known as Ball de Diables (Dance of the Devils), the correfoc represents Good and Evil coming head to head in a spectacular way. The paper mache figure of a dragon shooting off fireworks delights the crowds. Now because of Covid-19 all such fiestas have been canceled.l
Well, we have lingered at the backwaters of Kerala for quite a while, haven't we? My visit there only lasted one day, but reliving the day through my pictures, I felt like I stayed much longer! It is such a special place in the world. I hope you enjoyed seeing life at a leisurely pace surrounded by water and a lush tropical landscape. Just like these birds, we will be moving on. The next stop will be the beach on the western coast of India by the Arabian Sea.
I changed this image to monochrome which enhanced the light that was streaming through the clouds.
Although I haven't had the desire to be out with the camera lately, I surely miss your company, your vision and let's face it - that little bit of sanity in a world gone seemingly mad ..... it's time to come 'home again'.
Hope everyone is doing fine and looking forward to catching up! Thank you for being here ..

A sandhill crane begins the run on the icy surface of a frozen pond to gain velocity to take flight after a cold night. The onlookers in the back are still anchored in the ice, yet admiring the dedication of the individual in motion (except for those with their heads tucked in for warmth). Note the bit of ice still clinging to the right leg of the runner. In the evening when the cranes gather in the pond for protection from predators, but on cold nights the surface will freeze with the crane legs surrounded by ice.
Common Goldeneye - Well while it was not busy with other species I took the time to observe these guys' behaviour on a different angle for at least 4 weeks this winter. Even though it has been several years we photograph them and got to know what they do, I have still learned something new this time around because I was on a different angle. Unable to freeze that moment as I did not know what was going on and did not have another opportunity but now I know and it is on top of my list for next winter.
