Squamous Cell Carcinoma. This is before it got really bad. He was still acting like himself here. By the end, his face was filled with fluid, he was blind, he could only eat soft food, he couldn't close his mouth and could barely breath. It was a very rapid decline. This was 2 weeks before it completely took over his mouth and face. He wagged his tail right up to the very end.

Cancer: it’s not a word that anyone really wants to hear. While not necessarily a death sentence, cancer is an illness that does have a high mortality rate depending on where in the body it strikes.

It was a full day at the hospital, melenoma/tumor excision and rotational flap reconstruction = one greasy pigtail.
This is a list of my former roommate's responses when asked for his opinions on global warming for an essay. Until I met Tim I had no idea that it was possible for a person to be this ignorant.
Recent research by a New Zealand University team into colon cancer has uncovered a very interesting phenomenon that sheds light on why colon cancer is almost non-existent in the Maori race. Naturally this fact created a spin-off from the original study because if the reason why the indigenous...
These women were participating in a "sand sculpture" competition held at Baltimore's Inner Harbor. It was a very hot day, and the hats gave them a measure of protection from the heat.
CHICAGO, June 11 /PRNewswire/ -- With 90 percent of all skin cancers caused by sun exposure, The Headwear Association (THA) is once again launching Hat Day in the Sun on Friday, June 19 to coincide with the first weekend of summer.
Hat Day in the Sun, an annual national public awareness campaign will educate adults and children about how the right hat can protect against skin cancer, premature skin damage and the advanced aging process.
To celebrate this event, THA members will be giving away free wide-brimmed sun-protection hats across the country. For a list of cities and locations, please visit The Headwear Association website.
"A hat with a wide brim along all sides of your head should offer good sun protection for your eyes, ears, face, and the back of your neck," said David Goldman, president of The Headwear Association. "In the case of sun protection, a good hat should be both stylish and functional."
To be sure you are purchasing the right hat to protect against the harmful effects of the sun; The Headwear Association recommends the following tips:
-- Size - A hat with a minimum 2 1/2" brim can provide adequate sun
protection for the neck, face and ears.
-- Shape - Hat shapes that protect better against ultraviolet radiation
(UVR) are ones that curve down to follow the contours of the head and
neck.
-- Material - The material of a hat should be lightweight and breathable.
Fabric should be a closed weave straw, raffia, cloth, or felt.

within 5 days the skin healed. I’m still thinking, no biggie.
If you had seen me, you would say there isn't anything wrong with my skin.
....in for a nasty surprise.

Nearly four weeks after I start taking photos of my post-melanoma skin graft following the Elasticated Bandage Incident, the doctor lottery at the clinic finally brings me a doctor who realises that endlessly bandaging a scabbed wound that's been the same for 8 weeks isn't the best route to recovery. This is my graft about to be exposed to the elements, 3 months and 5 days after surgery.. Prints of the photos from Flickr helped convince him. Truly A Good Doctor.

I think the infected area was about a dime size, but he had to cut up this much to make sure my face healed back properly without the skin puckering in places. He did good in that aspect as I feel no pulling in any direction.
