Welcome February! It's supposed to be the coldest and snowiest month of winter. A cloudy and cold day at home with my figurines (1995 Westland Collection) and macro lens.

randomly threw on some skates and the dorks we were, went skating for a bit listening to bonnie tyler and random 90's music. I enjoyed it, and loved the company of adding extra peeps to the adventure! Serein, you are awesome, and i love doing stupid stuff with you! Thank you for the good time at the bonfire as well! Turning spiked pumpkin juice into a giant egg and running into the woods nonchalantly was epic! lmao!

La iglesia de Santa Bárbara en Llanera, entre Oviedo y Gijón, estuvo abandonada durante décadas. En 2007 la compró Ernesto Fernández, un joven empresario de Oviedo. El objetivo de Ernesto era levantar allí una empresa multiservicios, pero la crisis se encargó de parar este proyecto. Así que decidió dedicar la desacralizada iglesia a su hobby: el skate.
En 2014 este proyecto llegó a oídos del artista santanderino Okuda San Miguel, que nada más ver el espacio se enamoró y supo que tenía que formar parte de él con su arte.
En poco más de una semana llevaron a cabo la transformación. Pasó de ser una antigua iglesia convertida en skatepark, a ser un templo lleno de color y formas geométricas, de cuerpos sin identidad, de símbolos contrarios y animales sin cabeza.

After some deliberating, I included Tonya. This was the only flattering photo I could find of the aggressive blonde who was once called the Charles Barkley of skating.
It was hard to upload this, and it's hard to remember that horrible time in skating. I always felt that she was as much a victim as Nancy. She had real talent, real skill, and real serious problems that can't be explained away with "lousy taste in men."
I hope that she finds healing, and peace. I hope that she never does another reality TV show again.

it is not the picture I had in mind, I wanted to caeptur ice skaters instead of swans, but photography is not painting ... the ice was thin and the swans gave their best :-))
I was looking through all the photos I've taken throughout the years at this particular marina and came across this one of the pigeon who appeared to be mimicking the skater (well, in my mind, lol). This gave me quite a chuckle seeing it again, just as it did back then!

A Golden-crowned Sparrow ( Zonotrichia atricapilla) was picking seed off a frozen birdbath. Looked like it was learning to skate!
PS Our main birdbath has a heater. Providing bird with water in the winter is very important.
