Beautiful Summer day by the Channel at Swansea which connects Lake Macquarie to the Pacific Ocean in the Hunter Region, NSW, Australia.
This oaken barrel on skiis was photographed while visiting Alonso Russell's historic home in Utah's Grafton Ghost Town.
There is a note, allegedly from one of Russell's sons, that he had to travel regularly to the Virgin River, using this contraption in winter, to bring water to the house. The note mentions that his mother would not do laundry if the water was not reasonably clean.
It was my first time in Lake Tahoe and I could not believe the blue on the sky and mountains there.... unbelievable!! Enjoy your day my friends !!

The thing I love most about going on vacation is that I get to leave behind any kind of schedule. My entire life is scheduled from morning to night, and when I'm on vacation, there is no schedule.

Glacier, Washington
🎿 The ski fence in Glacier, WA is a quirky and beloved local landmark made from old skis—serving as both a creative art installation and a nod to the town’s deep ski culture. You’ll find it near the Wake ‘N Bakery, a cozy coffee shop in the heart of Glacier along Highway 542, which leads up to the Mt. Baker Ski Area.
Here’s what makes it special:
- Upcycled Charm: The fence is built entirely from retired skis, giving them a second life as
colorful, vertical slats
- Local Identity: It reflects Glacier’s identity as a laid-back, ski-loving community with a DIY spirit
- Photo-Worthy: Especially striking in winter when snow piles up around the skis, creating a vibrant contrast
- Cultural Symbol: Featured in local photography and art prints, including works by Grant Gunderson
If you’re heading through Glacier on your way to Mt. Baker, it’s worth a quick stop for a photo and a pastry.
Thank you for your visit and any faves or comments are always greatly appreciated!

Austin realizing he's not gonna get to ride up the Gondola to the top with Mommy and Travus (no joke!).
Though he and I had a great time at the bottom on the flat spots with his baby plastic skiis on, I could tell he really wasn't happy about not getting to go up with his older brother.
I now can't decide which of the two pics I like best, so posting this one too.

Frontenac State Park is on a high Minnesota bluff overlooking Lake Pepin (a wide spot on the Mississippi River), the home of the invention of water skiis. The limestone bluff you see on the left center is a WI outcropping.
Just added a Godox SKii strobe to my photography equipment collection with an XPro trigger. So far so good......
