I took some photos I made of a running Jane and fed them into an AI to combine elements and produce this image.
I used my cell phone on the end of a selfie stick with a toy tied onto the end as a lure to get her to chase the rig.
I'm learning AI can be used like Photoshop to blend things you have made, not just to create bizarre alien landscapes.
A sizzling 104 degree afternoon doesn't take away from the experience of spending time in Utah's Bootlegger Canyon, as the Potash Local creeps through a five mile track upgrade on June 4, 2021.

Railay – ein Ort, der bleibt, auch wenn sich alles verändert
Fünf Besuche seit 2018 – und doch fühlt es sich jedes Mal an, als würde man einen alten Freund wiedersehen. Railay mit seinen steil aufragenden Kalksteinwänden, der üppigen Vegetation und dieser gelassenen Affenbande, die sich nicht um Selfies, sondern nur um Bananenschalen schert.
Natürlich nutzt sich der erste Zauber mit der Zeit ab – vielleicht, weil es sonst kaum auszuhalten wäre. Aber die Atmosphäre bleibt. Besonders der Weg hinunter zum Phra Nang Beach, vorbei an tropischem Grün und rotbraunen Felsen, fühlt sich immer wieder an wie eine kleine Pilgerreise ans Ende der Welt.
Was fehlt? Die berühmten „Fressboote“ – schwimmende Garküchen, die einst täglich am Strand lagen und mit zischenden Woks, würzigem Duft und herzlichem Lächeln authentisches Thaifood direkt aus dem Boot servierten. Pad Thai, Som Tam, gegrillter Fisch – frisch, günstig und voller Seele. Sie verschwanden mit der Pandemie – und kamen nie zurück.
Vielleicht war es ein Opfer der neuen Ordnung, vielleicht auch eine stille Entscheidung. Doch ihr Fehlen spürt man – nicht nur im Magen, sondern im Herzen.
Trotzdem: Railay bleibt. Nicht als Ort von Sensationen, sondern als Ort, der wirkt – leise, ehrlich, nachhaltig.
Travel diary 30/04/2025:Railay – a place that remains, even as everything changes
Five visits since 2018 – and still, every time feels like returning to an old friend. Railay, with its towering limestone cliffs, lush greenery, and that laid-back monkey gang that couldn’t care less about selfies, only banana peels.
Sure, the initial magic fades a little over time – maybe because otherwise it would be too overwhelming. But the atmosphere stays. Especially the path down to Phra Nang Beach, winding through tropical foliage and rusty-red rock, always feels like a small pilgrimage to the edge of the world.
What’s missing? The legendary “food boats” – floating kitchens that used to line the beach daily, serving sizzling wok dishes and heartfelt Thai food straight from their longtail boats. Pad Thai, Som Tam, grilled fish – fresh, cheap, and full of soul. They disappeared with the pandemic and never returned.
Maybe they were a casualty of order, maybe it was a quiet decision. But their absence is felt – not just in the stomach, but in the heart.
Still: Railay remains. Not as a place of spectacle, but as a place that lingers – quietly, honestly, deeply.
