A trio of B&P SD60s heads north through heavy snowfall towards Buffalo after holding for the weekend after record setting snowfall in the Buffalo area!
Surrounded by the floodwaters of Utah Lake, Union Pacific SD60s No. 6007, 6005, and 6053 pull a United States Fuel (Mohrland), Utah to Moapa, Nevada coal train out of Provo, Utah the morning of April 10, 1988. These floodwaters receded decades ago, and the right of way is today lined with brush and trees.
In the Sixties this popular Kensington landmark was black with soot & came close to being demolished. The blinkered planners of the time could never have imagined the way it is now & how it originally was when built, one of the most spectacular monuments outside India. Planners, however, are just as blinkered now as they were in the sixties, at least in the UK.

CN S709 charges up Steelton Hill with a pair of SD60s pulling hard on an empty molten sulfur train. Earlier in the day, this duo brought A438 down from Ranier to Pokegama and were later assigned to this unit train.

On a crisp spring morning, UP 1024 and a fellow GP60 roll Proviso-bound tonnage east on the Milwaukee Sub at 16th Street in Milwaukee. They are crossing the Kinnickinnic River- here more of a stream- on a bridge that proves this line was built with much grander expectations, having room for a quadruple main. In the distance is the Maynard Steel Casting complex, unfortunately no longer rail-served.
'The Rockerill'
The former Cockerill forge was transformed into concert halls, a bar, etc.by a collective of artists and friends (2005)
A collection of old working tools and objects is still present (e.g. this plants holder in snake form, made from bamboo)
In a fairly timeless scene (minus the modern newspaper box), GMRC 405 chugs across Depot St. in Proctorsville for the umpteenth time in its sixty-six year career. The classic RS-1 was the power on the west end of the Green Mountain Flyer over the weekend, and the combination of an extra trip, and the overcast weather allowed quite a few shots of the vintage diesel toiling away.
CP 6303 and a pair of SD40-2s creep down the "Wash" on the west end of Muskego Yard in Milwaukee, with a Bensenville-bound manifest.
More fun with details and colors. All shots are from Torrington town cruise / car show. Once again commenting will be mostly off

I think about life everyday. How all of us came to be who we are right this moment. In that one second our lives can be ripped off the face of the earth in a matter of seconds.
Just from walking down the wrong alley, leaving five minutes early for work, taking that flight back home. All of our thoughtless little actions could lead to something so horrible and so catastrophic that can lead to death. Everyday, about 250,000 people die and i'm not one of them, but someone else is. Tomorrow i could die, and not even know it. Thats what makes our lives so unbelievably precious.
Three UP SD60s are the power for the A&S Transfer and are seen doubling up their train at 23rd Street Yard. The lead engine, #2184, is an SD62 rebuilt at Jenks with adjusted control stands and speedometers and rear ditch lights for long-hood forward operation.

This didn't turn out anything like I'd envisioned it in my head. But I'm ok with that. Because the shots that were more in keeping with my original idea really weren't doing it for me. So there you go. Unexpected results.
Hope you guys are having a good hump day.
My Face is My Canvas: Emulation #71
A tip from Dave Schauer got me out of the house on Sunday for a go at the Ranier Local, with four SD60's leading, along with a couple of ore motors returning from Winnipeg. It was high sun, and no really good angles available but I got this one with the drone and another at the crossing with the camera.
