Гітара -- Ukrainian for Guitar. I figured that since I'm making an everyday familiar object look so foreign to the visual senses that I needed a foreign language to describe the set too.

Lloyd Allayre Loar (January 9, 1886 – September 14, 1943)[1] was a Gibson sound engineer and master luthier in the early part of the 20th century. The LH-200 uses a smaller "pre-war" body style that is comfortable for long playing sessions. Back and sides are Mahogany and the top is solid spruce. Ivoroid/black binding all the way around, and lovely MOP headstock inlay designed by Greg Rich. Standard scale at 25.5" and 14 frets clear of the body. No cutaway, no pickup included, and mine came sans pickguard. Bone nut and Grover open tuners that work. Only 4.25" deep.

Like a roarin’ postcard from the fifties – that’s the sound of the HELLABAMA HONKY TONKS. Three voices, an overdriven sixstring, a big bad black doghouse bass and a pumping and swinging set of drums – that’ s what is called High Octane Hillbilly Rock’n Roll at its best, a patchwork of rough Rockabilly, fast Country and a little bit of Swing performed by Goldi Grasshopper, Crazyeye and Mr. Madsn. So put your cat clothes on, you rockin’ cats and enjoy the HELLABAMA HONKY TONKS!

Die HELLABAMA HONKY TONKS – High Octane Hillbilly Rock’n Roll at its best!

The guitar belongs to my father. It is an Eko semi-acoustic guitar, made in Italy, around 1970.

The mother of all electrical guitars. There's nothing sounding quite like an American Telecaster. If you're playing the guitar, you need one.

One of my main guitars (along with the Blade and the Surfcaster).
The Danelectro Shorthorn line of guitars are a dual cutaway hollow bodied design, made of Masonite (that's the same stuff like the back of your kitchen cabinet...) and poplar. The original models were introduced in 1959 to replace the U model guitars, and were in production until the closure of the Danelectro company in 1969.
A really cheap but "interesting" sounding guitar. A great sounding guitar if you're willing to "fight" for your tone...! Try it through a high gain amp!
Year 5 of 365: Life, Love, and the Pursuit of Happiness. In my pursuit of happiness, today I completed my 78th lifetime dream today: Learning to play Eric Johnson’s “Trademark” from his Ah Via Musicom album. I have a lot of memories with this song. I’ve tried to master it for years and have come close, but never quite made it through the solo and to the end. When I made it to the end today… I couldn’t believe it, so I played it over and over and over- nailing it each time. I was taken aback and I just had to capture the moment.
I remember when I was dating a girl in college and this song was getting a lot of air play (Eric’s an Austin native so Austin plays him a lot). I always told her I would learn this song, and even to this day I am reminded of her. When I was going through some really hard times I took my guitar, amp, and this CD and disappeared for a few weeks. I worked when I had to work, and when I didn’t I would play this song over and over- learning one note at a time.
This is a great way for me to start off the New Year- not just completing a lifetime dream very early on, but completing something that I have been chasing down for years. I didn’t practice it every day by any means- in fact I had several years where I didn’t even practice this song… but it was always in the back of my mind. I felt such a sense of accomplishment- more because I completed something years in the chasing, but also because Eric Johnson is a guitar virtuoso, and he is insanely talented.
