The U.S. Army Reserve's 79th Sustainment Support Command hosted their 2017 Best Warrior Competition at Camp Pendleton, Calif., May 3-6. The Best Warrior Competition seeks out the best candidate that defines a U.S. Army Soldier by testing Soldiers physically and mentally. The competition consisted of one enlisted Soldier and one noncommissioned officer from four separate one-star commands, which fall underneath the command and control of 79th SSC. At the conclusion, one Soldier and one NCO were named the 79th SSC Best Warriors and will represent the command in the U.S. Army Reserve Best Warrior Competition held at Fort Bragg, N.C., June 4-10, 2017. More than 100 junior Nebraska National Guard Airmen and Soldiers came together Aug. 3, 2019, at the Greenlief Training Site near Hastings, Nebraska for a friendly competition. The Recruit Sustainment Program versus Student Flight Challenge consisted of a 5-kilometer ruck march, obstacle course and a modified Army physical fitness test. Seventeen teams of trainees from the Nebraska Air National Guard's Student Flight and the Nebraska Army National Guard’s Recruit Sustainment Program (RSP) battled to represent their military branch and earn the top team honor.
