Taken through my sittingroom window just after dawn. The lashing rain finally stopped just after sunset. A bucket in our back garden, empty last night, was half full.

Yashka's muzzle was so overgrown with hair that he began to see poorly. I myself do not dare to cut the hair above the eyes, so on the 28th we will go to the dog hairdresser.

Ireland is being bashed by yet another storm with gales and heavy rain sweeping the country, but these alstroemerias are safe in my sittingroom.
I'm in the ground floor of a Georgian town house, built in 1805. The rooms are huge - this is just half the sittingroom! It still has a lot of original features such as the cornices & marble fireplace and very high ceilings. A bugger to keep warm though!
The Saturday self-challenge group has chosen Wide today, the photograph must be twice as wide as it is high.

Yesterday our boys met the Victorian Father Christmas in Knightshayes court! They were truly excited about the occasion and were delighted to hand over their letters in person. Two things that made Father Christmas laugh: when asked about what they want to eat for Christmas Dinner our 4 year old said Spaghetti - and when Father Christmas asked our 2 year old about his age he replied 8 years old :-P
Knightshayes Court is a lovely National Trust maintained gothic estate and they did a fantastic job decorating each of the lush rooms in a spectacular way.
To me, this view is the most interesting inside of the house - it is just very hard to take a photo without any person in the frame....
