5. Accept Jesus and receive eternal life: If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9 NLT) But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. (John 1:12 NLT) And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life. I might have spoke a little soon calling the Madam a saint.
The Blackwood estates, a towering high rise in the heart of the city. A building so tall they say you can see above the clouds of pollution. With a view like that you could almost forget about the eyesore of a city that sat beneath the wastes. Naturally the brass had a couple of their boys patrolling the building, rookies from the look of it. I let Binx do his thing. The fuzzball was quick to disarm their serious looks. Flashing a fake badge I tell em what a bang up job they’re doing before letting myself in. My partner stays outside, if forensics makes a second sweep of the place don’t want em finding loads of Binx’s hair.
The Madam’s staff was fully robotic. Strange things. They buzzed about the building attending to various tasks. Seems no one informed them of the Madam’s demise. I pay them no mind. Walking these halls one can’t help but notice the various oil paintings of Madam Blackwood posing with various animals. She must have a real soft spot for critters like this. Taking the turbo lift to her living quarters the story began to change. Instead of being in paintings the critters were now hanging in her closet. Exotics furs of all sorts. I didn’t recognize most of em. One twist right after another. If I didn’t break this case it might end up breaking itself.
I start my work. Taking photos and doing a bit of snooping. Despite the furs nothing seems out of place. Pausing I take a look out the windows. Breath taking, a sea of yellow clouds for as far as the eye can see. A meow from my partner takes my attention. “How did you get in here?” the cheese colored rascal knocks over a pile of books. As one of them hits the floor it opens, spilling a pile of credits all over the floor. Interesting place to hide your cash… fake cash at that. There had to be thousands of them. But there it was, a break in the case. Among the credits sat another business card. “Harry’s Pet Supplies” perhaps we’d find our answers there. Scooping up Binx I clean up the credits and exit the building. We’ll see what the slums know about this Harry.
I'm fighting a sinus thing so this is the laziest blog post ever, I'm sorry.
