As the bay tide waters rises and lowers she still manages to stay afloat barely, sometimes more but often times less is visible to the eye now.

Her faith & pride are now long gone. But once she sailed proudly with her bow held up high. And she could hold her own and did so for many years working hard until time & people gave up on her. Is this, whats it's like to grow old and useless?

But soon... she'll be with us no more as she slowly slips beneath the waters.......

Macro Monday... Say Cheese .....

This is the second image of a series of shots I made of this facet.

Sinks Grove, Monroe County, WV.

I could not resist this image of the sun sinking behind the fog bank coming in over the Pacific Ocean and the clouds glowing in the distance. The weather forecasters were all raving about how good the sunset would be in twenty minutes, but on the ocean side of the hills around San Francisco, the sun was completely shrouded three minutes after this was taken. I'm glad I did not drive all the way to the beach for a closer look!

Thanks for stopping by and for all of your support. Have a great weekend!

Assayer's work sink.

A sunset on the Lancashire Coast at Fleetwood. The sun and the wooden planking are both disappearing into the skyline of the Irish Sea.

This was one of the first images I took on visiting on this evening. The sky was interesting and as the evening went on I was blessed with some marvellous colour.

A slow glide along the Grand Canal, approaching the timeless arch of the Rialto Bridge. To one side, a weathered facade leans gently toward the water—its foundation softened by centuries of tide and time.

Beneath the surface, Venice hums with quiet urgency. The city is constantly at work, investing in the invisible: modernizing water and sewer systems, reinforcing ancient foundations, threading new electrical lines through stone walls built before electricity existed.

It’s a delicate dance—preserving the poetry of the past while ensuring the city can thrive in the present. As the bridge draws near, the scene feels eternal, yet alive with change.

Our kitchen sink with flowing water. Water bubbles, bokeh and scratches everywhere! :-)

carpal tunnel and/or tendonitis - perhaps too much time on Flickr - lol - apologies for not commenting and for those who are kind enough to comment on my image - thanks in advance - need to rest my very painful hand and arm for a while

I was hoping for more reflection, the ice wasn't cooperating with me.

The Sinking House in Paris

A bit of light relief from the serious business of composition......

Class 37s (sorry, class 97s) 97303 and 97304 (the latter nearest the camera) head the previous day's 7.43pm Shrewsbury Coleham - Shrewsbury Coleham (3S71) rail-head treatment train away from Flint as it continues its long journey around Cheshire, Shropshire, and North Wales, etc.

I'd meticulously planned the approach shot to ensure I'd got the track aligned with the early morning sun, so helping capture a mucky but backlit spray. While that shot turned out ok, and will follow in due course, this was my first visit to Flint and I didn't expect to see the train crest an unexpected bump before seemingly heading beneath the surface as it disappeared towards Holyhead! It won the day, for humour if nothing else.

The RHTT was scheduled to land back in Shrewsbury for the final time at 4.32pm that day so bringing to an end one of the longest current workings in the schedule at around 21 hours. Of course it rests up at different spots, and takes on new supplies during the course of its journey, not to mention different train crew. I was expecting a pair of Grids so it was good to see a pair of Tractors doing the work - a nice surprise and they didn't half make a noise passing through the station, with the spray from the tanks only exceeded by the clag from the loco's exhausts - happy days!

Apologies if you were looking to see a full loco.....

I had a lot of fun taking this photo. I discovered a version of this photo on Flickr (known as Sinking House). I tried to understand and where it was made. There are several articles in Internet. I had a little trouble finding the precise location... It's done and the result is pretty good. On occasion, I will take it again with a sunset.

GP40-2 number 4419 is one of the last examples of a CSX standard cab in YN2 paint, and when I heard it was in Winchester as local power, I jumped on the chance to shoot it. After a failed attempt where it trailed, a second attempt at getting the 4419 leading on the Patio to Corbin local found me getting what I came for. Going track speed down the L&N CC Mainline, they emerge from the tunnel at Sinks as they near London and Corbin.
