My own Lego Technic creation. This model was inspired by an old racing open-wheel car. Vehicle has minimalistic design with only few panels. Dominant in this model is a massive V8-engine with curved exhausts and big wheels with visible suspension. Model has working steering and suspension, rear wheels are connected with engine.

Pirelli’s 18-inch concept tyres mounted on Lotus F1 Team’s E22 with Charles Pic at the wheel for day two of the post British Grand Prix test at Silverstone today (9th July).

Making a radical departure from the wheel and tyre size combination which has been utilised in Formula 1 for decades, Pirelli brought this exciting new concept to the test to gauge public reaction and get a feel for the potential of bigger rims and lower profile tyres.

This Watson ‘ground up’ racing car, developed specifically for the Indy 500, was longer, narrower and more aerodynamic than most of its competitors.

It was one of the first racing cars made of fibreglass and magnesium rather than aluminium. The weight was concentrated towards the inside of the banked oval racetrack. The driver could adjust the suspension during the race.

The constructor was one of the most famous engineers and racing car builders that the Indy 500 has ever known: A.J. Watson. As early as the end of the 1940s he was actively involved in preparing cars for the Indy races and from around 1955 to 1965 one third of all participating cars were either built or prepared by him. In that period the race was won six times by a Watson.

Day one (8th July) of two days testing at Silverstone.

Today’s running was conducted by Mclaren’s official reserve driver, Belgian Stoffel Vandoorne.

A not very Brütsch-like single-seater Brütsch car. This open streamlined sports car was equipped with a 250cc air-cooled two-stroke engine with starter, four-wheel brake, telescopic shock absorbers and scooter tires.

Topspeed was 80kmh. The car consumed 3 liters of fuel for 100 km. I believe that Brütsch has built just one copy

"Chassis number: 71/69/12FB

"The history of this 1971 Lotus Type 69 Formula 3 racer has been researched by Duncan Rabagliati, a motoring historian and Historic Lotus Register registrar and Motorsport UK HTP inspector for Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) papers, who also has copies of the original Lotus 69 production records.

"The records show that Type 69 Formula 3 chassis number 71/69/12 FB was the last of the FB chassis. Although unsold in 1971, it was a full‑build rolling chassis with fire extinguisher and seat belts. It was recorded as being taken back into stock, until March 1972, when Lotus Cars advertised it for sale in Motoring News. It was sold to Italian racing driver Claudio Francisci, who campaigned it, with F3 1600cc engine, in Formula 3 races throughout 1972, including the F3 support race to that year's Monaco GP.

"The paperwork folder includes supporting evidence from Claudio Francisci regarding his ownership of the car, a list of racing results from 1972 and more extensive write‑ups on some of the races the Lotus participated in, along with some Italian paperwork. It seems to have returned to this country again in 2018.

"As the car is one that raced in period to the correct specification of a 1600cc F3 car between 1971 and 1973, it is eligible to enter the HSCC Classic F3 Championship and to obtain an HSCC VIF (Vehicle Identity Form). It's also eligible for a FIA Historic Technical Passport (HTP).

#23 Nissan Silvia S15 Liberty Walk

The 1936 Bentley Pacey-Hassan is the epitome of that rare breed of fast, powerful racing Bentleys that dominated the races of their era.

This car is particularly special because it brought together two of the foremost names of the day. Bentley racer and owner, Bill Pacey, called on Bentley boy and fellow driver, Woolf Bernato, to borrow the services of Walter ‘Wally’ Hassan and create a 4 ½ litre racer to the very latest standards.

The Pacey-Hassan is the result of this partnership, and it was finished in time for its racing debut at the 1936 Brooklands Easter meeting. This was a successful debut since it won the race, lapping at a speed of 117.46mph.

This was to prove the start of a very successful debut year for the car, as Pacey managed to place in all four races he drove in 1936, with highlights including a win at the Whitsun Meeting ‘Gold Star’ race.

The car itself is, like many Bentleys of the era, built using a combination of parts from existing cars and bespoke, new elements. The low-slung chassis was built especially for the Pacey-Hassan and was paired with a sleek and narrow single-seater body.

The original 4 ½ litre engine came from Pacey’s existing racing Bentley, but it was modified for the Pacey-Hassan car. It was bored out to 101mm and fitted with stronger components. The car was even developed with a supercharger and a 3-litre engine in an effort for greater top speeds – its fastest ever flying lap was clocked at 129mph.

One thing I really love about Mamiya TLRs is their ability to get in close to the subject unlike outer TLRs where you have to muck about with Rollienars or the like.
