Snakes, believe it or not, aren't slimy at all! But you can feel them moving under their skin. *shudder*
Those 4 pictures came to life when the show started. The front chest had some sort of fan that was blowing upwards, enabling to show an image projection. The sails on either side were used as monitors for image projections also. The crate below the left sail was a fog machine that blew out some smoke rings towards the audience. I think there was a similar one below the right sail.
