This long exposure night photograph was taken from One Fullerton looking towards the iconic landmark Clifford Pier (the renovated structure with the revolving top, as part of Fullerton Bay Hotel). The Pier was completed in 1933 and was a landing point for immigrants and other sea passengers to Singapore. In the foreground were two newer structures, a floating Pavilion (on the left) and a profiled pedestrian bridge (seen leading to the Pier).
This photograph was taken early this morning from Jubilee Bridge looking towards the Singapore Flyer and the temporary structures on top of The Float @ Marina Bay which provided the performance stage for the National Day Parade scheduled for 9th August. It was a relatively calm morning with slowly drifting clouds. The rising sun and colourful clouds provided attractive complements to the Flyer and temporary structures in the Bay.
Looking northeast from the 58th floor of the Swissotel The Stamford. On the right you can see Singapore Flyer. In the middle are the luxurious South Beach Residences.
Clarke Quay is a unique, conserved historical landmark located along the Singapore River. This photograph was taken during blue hour, with reflections in the Singapore River. The open spaces of the Clarke Quay complex, with rows of conserved buildings, are covered by structures above the roof level. In addition, many “umbrellas” along the river bank offer shade or rain cover to diners.
Best wishes for the new week.
Singapore is a photographers paradise with so many wonderful viewpoints.
This is from Marina Barrage on the edge of the city on the Straights of Singapore. It is a very easy area to access and heavily frequented by locals enjoying the cool breezes and city views.
The challenge of this photo beyond weather is waiting for the area to be free of people and timing the water fountain lights. The water fountain cycle is rather short, so to overcome this I used a ND filter and 30 second exposure. This left the lasting water impressions and those walking through were not captured.
The ArtScience Museum is a key attraction of the Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort located at Bayfront Avenue in Singapore. It was designed by world-renown architect Moshe Safdie, and opened its doors to the public in February 2011. This morning photograph was taken recently, showing the lower glass-clad structure and the external staircases leading to the upper structure. The structure was reflected in the pool, in the foreground, with lotus leaves and flowers.
Best wishes for a wonderful weekend!

Singapore Changi Airport offers a nice mixture of shops. Despite the high number of passengers, the airport is relatively quiet. Last but not least thanks to a butterfly garden and various couches and massage chairs.

Sunset was unbelievably colorful this evening – I had not planned to shoot sunset was planning for blue hour but ended up with a nice pink surprise.
I am not sure what the purpose of the structure is as its open air with three openings and nothing inside. One of the other ends has a great view of the Marina Bay Sands and Singapore Flyer. But sadly there is a monster triple headed flood light that destroys any nighttime shot :-)
Singapore has a sensibly regulated free market economy, combined with political stability and certainty based on the rule of law. A laser sharp focus on quality education has produced an industrious and well educated work force. Singapore is probably the only country in that has graduated from being a Third World Country to a First World one within a single generation.
These attributes have attracted many international investors that have turned Singapore into a powerhouse for global business and finance.
Several leading multinational corporations have established their regional headquarters in Singapore, and announce their presence in the form of competing skyscrapers that rival any skyline found in the leading countries of the world.
Singapore turns into a very colourful city in the evening. A tripod (here I had none with me) is highly recommended:).
Unfortunately we didn't have time to make a Singapore River cruise.
