Something new in Winnsboro TX. They took an old gas station and turned it into a beautiful mini restaurant. Food it great.
One of the oldest buildings in Cardiff Bay, the Pilotage is steeped in history. The Pilotage Office was the administrative building for river pilots operating in the Bristol Channel. It was from here that local pilots would gather their roster for the day and, most importantly, their salary; its origins are imbued with mystery. Nobody really knows why it was built, but it could be the oldest building in the Bay. Its thick stone walls make it definitely distinct from other nearby buildings. The local historian, Professor Neil Sinclair, suggested that it may have been built by the second Marquess of Bute to stabilize the large workhorses who pulled the barges along the Glamorganshire Canal. There is no documentation to prove the construction date. It is shown in the first edition of the OS map (1880), although the Pilotage Office was not named until the 2nd edition in 1900. One of the most distinctive things of this building is the vane of the ship (modern) and the historical compass inserted in the base of the tower below. The compass was produced by W Weichart from Cardiff and indicates the wind direction at quarter points. The wind vane was installed in the 70s. The Pilotage Office building has been transformed into a restaurant. He traded as Woods Brasserie from 1999 to 2015. He is now busy with Bill's Restaurant.
Bill's Cardiff Bay restaurant is in the historic Pilotage Building. Light and airy during the day, warm and cosy at night, it's a lovely space for breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between.

Il Pilotage Office era l'edificio amministrativo per i piloti fluviali che operavano nel Canale di Bristol. Era da qui che i piloti locali avrebbero raccolto il loro roster per il giorno e, cosa più importante, il loro stipendio; le sue origini sono intrise di mistero. Nessuno sa veramente perché è stato costruito, ma potrebbe essere l'edificio più antico della Baia. I suoi spessi muri di pietra lo rendono sicuramente distinto dagli altri edifici vicini.
Lo storico locale, il professor Neil Sinclair, ha suggerito che potrebbe essere stato costruito dal secondo marchese di Bute per stabilizzare i cavalli da lavoro di grandi dimensioni che tiravano le chiatte lungo il canale del Glamorganshire.

L'edificio del Pilotage Office è stato trasformato in un ristorante. Ha commerciato come Woods Brasserie dal 1999 al 2015. Ora è occupato da Bill's Restaurant.
Il ristorante Bill's in Cardiff Bay si trova nello storico Pilotage Building. Leggero e arioso durante il giorno, caldo e accogliente di notte, è uno spazio incantevole per colazione, pranzo, cena e tutto il resto.

Zwölf Jahre flickr
Auch an diesem 24. Oktober ist wieder ein flickr - Jahr vorbei
und ich feiere meinen flickr - Geburtstag.
Nun ist es der Zwölfte.
Nun kann ich das gleiche wieder schreiben was ich schon vor einem Jahr schrieb:
"Vielen Dank an alle Freunde, Kontakte, Fotobegeisterte, Zufallsbekanntschaften und zufällig Vorbeischauende aus aller Welt die meine Bilder betrachten, favorisieren, kommentieren. kritisieren und für "Gut" befinden.
Auf dieser Seite kann ich mein Können und meine Leidenschaft zu der Fotografie zeigen.
Sicherlich ist man kein Profi, dafür aber schon profihaft ausgestattet und es gibt viele die es besser können.
Letztendlich soll es mir ja auch Spaß machen und keinen Druck erzeugen seine Kreativität zu entfalten.
Deshalb schaue ich mir auch gerne andere Bilder von Fotografen aus aller Welt an und versuche mich auf vielen Gebieten, wobei die Panorama-, Makro-, Nacht-, Landschafts- sowie Porträtfotografie im Vordergrund steht."
Eine gute Kameraausrüstung ist nicht entscheidend, doch sie macht schon sehr viel aus. Mit ihr hat man mehr Möglichkeiten für gelungene Fotos und genießt dabei den heutigen Stand der Technik.
