European Political Community Summit Simulation for Moldovan Youth, 2023
On 26-27 May, 50 young people from various regions of Moldova took part in a simulation of the European Political Community Summit, organised by the Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) from Moldova. The event took place at the Moldovan Parliament in Chisinau.
The simulation took place on the eve of the summit of the European political community held near Chisinau on 1 June at the initiative of the EU. Forty-seven heads of state and government, as well as the presidents of the European Council, the European Commission and the European Parliament were invited to the summit.
The simulation provided young participants with the opportunity to take on the role of European leaders representing their countries or institutions. Participants discussed a variety of topics, including peace, democracy, climate, energy, security and misinformation, and offered their vision of how to strengthen security and stability on the European continent.

On Tuesday, April 28th, the UI Carver College of Medicine hosted a Mini Medical School on Personal Genetic Information: Its Power, Promise, and Problems in Davenport at Genesis Medical Center East.
Genesis Medical Center is one of eight UI-affiliated family medicine residency programs across the state of Iowa. During hands-on, pre-program activities, attendees had the opportunity to interact with some of these individuals and see what it might be like to intubate a patient, perform an ultrasound, and see a simulation of a baby being born.
The Mini Medical School program was delivered by Colleen Campbell, PhD, MS, CGC and Sandra Daack-Hirsch, PhD, RN, who presented on whole genome sequencing and how researchers at the Iowa Institute of Human Genetics are helping shape the future of personalized medicine, and what that means for you as an individual.

This is a photo from a training exercise at Edinburgh's Royal Infirmary hospital, in preparation for the G8. I did the makeup for this little girl, and the doctors thought it was real and whisked her away from the simulation area to try and treat her. She burst in to tears! When heading back to the make-up room the police then tried to send her back to A&E again, thinking she was really hurt. She cried again. I'm really sorry for making that wee girl cry so much, but I'm really chuffed about doing such realistic make-up!

Soldiers assigned to the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) competed in the Best Warrior competition at Fort A.P. Hill, Va. During the weeklong competition, these Soldiers were tested on warrior tasks and battle drills, urban warfare simulations, physical fitness test, written exam and board interviews.
