Three unusual stones in this stone bowl with a few blossoms added gives an interesting effect to this photo I think. (view in large size).

Simplicity Lisette 2209 made up in a mint green pique. I loved this pattern so much that I made it again! Blogged at Idle Fancy.

Note: Pattern construction notes are detailed in my original rose print version of 2209 at my blog.

My first attempt at this pattern. Very simple and easy to make, will probably try it again in a summer fabric.

Made out of DS quilts floral and hem bound with Katie Jump Rope.

I changed the zipper from a regular zipper with a flap, to an invisible zipper.

This is a 12, but I wish I had made it a 14 for comfort. Next time. This was a super easy pattern and I'm very happy with it. I decided to bind the hem instead of turning it up in order to keep the length. There's something about being 40 that has made me shy away from short short skirts. :)

"1938" handwritten on the envelope. This pattern was pretty easy to work with and the result is very flattering and feminine. On mine, I shortened the hem to the knee and made my own bias from the contrasting fabric. Easy. A+ pattern!

Life could be complicated, we have to simplify it by filtering what we want to hold on or let go.

生活得太擁擠,容易互相干擾,每夜我們用睡眠重建自我,當伴隨著晨光醒來,對自己完成了的再一次的拼湊。

該忘記的忘記,該牢記的牢記。

In character, in manner, in style, in all things, the supreme excellence is simplicity.

First, let me say that I am pretty new to this photography game. I got my Rebel about two years ago when my daughter was born, and have just felt a natural desire and inspiration to capture everything from life's most simple moments to its most captivating ever since then. I have a lot to learn, but I have also come a long way in those two years. I struggle with feeling like I am not good enough to really go after this dream, but I love it, so I'm going to keep doing whatever I can to make myself better. This is a photo from my first newborn shoot, who also happens to be my new niece. I was super excited about the opportunity, but also pretty nervous. Our first go round did not go well at all...she cried almost the whole time, there was not good natural light, and the room was too small for me to really maneuver with my 1.4 prime lens. Thankfully, her mom was willing to come over to our house, which has tons of natural light, and I turned our living room into a mini fort/makeshift studio area for our little princess here. I had a GREAT time and really stepped outside of my comfort zone...we did everything from fairy wings, to vintage milk bottles, to this sweet little shot. It's amazing how something that looks so SIMPLE is really the farthest thing from it. A lot of prep went into getting this shot, but I love it. I'm thankful for the opportunity, and I two quotes come to mind for this week, as I struggle with making my way in this wonderful, but sometimes harsh business. The first is from Anne Geddes, "The hardest thing in photography is to create a simple image." The other is from Saul Bass, "I just want to make beautiful things, even if nobody cares."
