There's just something about freshly cut grass. ...It's the simple things in life that count.

Looking at me is looking at Yourself. I am that mirror.
You looked at me with laughter, and I became the whole flower field of laughter.*

I could hear this couple’s laughter across the lake. And when I looked through my lens I could see them smiling at each other happily while drinking presumably a hot beverage in a flask. The setting sun shone across the lake highlighting the autumnal colors in the most glorious light. They seemed oblivious (which was good, I would hate for them to see me as a slightly creepy person staring at them through my camera lens across the lake from amongst the trees😂) but their joy was contagious. Funny how we can be so involved in a moment of contentment or joy and directly affect someone else positively without ever even knowing it. It can also hold true to the opposite effect - think about the hustle of busy holiday shopping when you’re surrounded by scowling tired shoppers, it’s like a disease and pretty soon you may find yourself tired and crabby as well😅) I am a people watcher I confess, I enjoy watching and taking in different interactions and it always brings me joy to watch others experiencing joy especially in the most simplest of ways. Maybe that’s why my favorite images here on Flickr are of the simple moments or captures. A squirrel enjoying a nut, a deer enjoying a pumpkin, or even an unknown stranger enjoying their time out with their spouse or child for an autumn walk. I hope this brings a smile to your face as well. Much love to you my friends ♥️ love always, Rachel

be at peace with your own soul,
then heaven and earth will be at peace with you
enter eagerly into the treasurehouse
that is within you
and you will see the things
that are in heaven
for there is but one single entry to them both
the ladder that leads to the Kingdom
is hidden within your soul
dive into yourself and in your soul
you will discover
the stairs by which to ascend*

The last of my Underwood Typewriter images - promise. I wanted to showcase it's vintage beauty one last time with a bit of bokeh for HBW.
Enjoy your day!

It's the simple things, like bubblegum bubbles, that can bring such joy :)

The green force of life, expanding into the Universe. Hildegard von Bingen saw the notion of 'Viriditas', or Greenness, penetrating every aspect of life. This 'Greenness' for her is the very expression of Divine power on Earth.

... crossing Asilomar State Beach.
Asilomar State Beach is a narrow one-mile strip of sandy beach and rocky coves. It is within the boundary of Asilomar Marine Reserve. Across from Asilomar State Beach is the Asilomar Natural Dune Preserve. One of Asilomar’s landmark stiles stands at the gateway to this preserve. A ¼ mile boardwalk meanders through the 25 acres of restored sand dune ecosystem. Discover the native plant greenhouse where more than 450,000 plants, representing 25 species have been grown and planted in the dunes and coastal bluffs. The boardwalk also leads park visitors to the Asilomar Conference Grounds. Asilomar originated as a woman’s summer camp and conference facility out of the inspired vision of a handful of resourceful, socially-concerned and committed women of the YWCA in 1913. Its historic buildings were designed by California architect Julia Morgan. It has been owned and operated by State Parks since 1956. (This is the place I stayed at with my sister and her family).
