I was looking through the living room window when I saw the gorgeous colours of the sky reflected in the puddles created by melting snow. Dinner was ready but I has to take a few moments to run out and capture this on "film".

Abstract is so versatile and and I love most of it. Simplicity works best for me. Here I've used only folding papers.The layers are random and the diagonals finish it off. Enjoy!
My contribution is a bit late as I've problems with uploading the RAW files that are converted to jpeg's. That's why this is a photo in less quality.
Today started with this wonderful light, golden and purple-ish. It's never the same These quiet moments last short, but stay in mind all day long.
A rusty iron beam, with some remains of the blue paint that once covered the whole thing. What was it holding together and what was it's purpose? Here's beauty and a hidden history, sometimes I'd wish objects could speak.

I felt like this shot might be a good panacea for the unchecked greed that sometimes grips people's hearts on "Black Friday". For my little Bella, there is pretty much nothing in the world that makes her happier than an old cruddy ball and a human who cares enough to take the time to throw it for her. If dogs were into smiling, her grin would be from ear to ear. The truth of the matter is that sometimes the face of the person throwing the ball has a big grin, too, from the reflection of the joy of the animal. Don't forget simple pleasures this holiday season! And, if you are looking for an expensive pleasures - this lens (a loaner from Fuji) is fantastic and can be yours for only $6000 USD! After checking out on what I spent all my money this month it turned out that it wasn't on photography ;o)

I woke up to beautiful sunshine again today and went out early to take some pictures and was reminded again of how blessed I am.
I live in a beautiful country, I can walk around freely without fear. My country is not war torn. I have so many freedoms and so many blessings.
This morning I felt blessed just to be able to go outside and feed our horses. It was so quiet and peaceful apart from the birds chirping...but to me that is peaceful and they make up one of the most beautiful orchestras.
Sometimes life can get so crazy and I can forget to take in the little things that are all around me:
Birds chirping
Seeing the sun shine so beautifully on the dew covered plants
Taking the time to pet my horse instead of rushing back to the house
Picking wild raspberries
Finding joy in watching two little chicks with their mother
Watching the neighbour cat as he's on the prowl and giving him a little pet and scratch
Sitting and listening to the gently falling rain
Watching the clouds move by so quickly on a windy day
Life is so short, it goes by so quickly, I don't want to take it for granted, I don't want to waste this time that I have been given.

These captivating bald cypress (Taxodium distichum) look prehistoric and are native to the southeastern states. Makes me wonder how this family was transplanted here to the Niles Canyon district of Fremont. These trees are usually knee deep in water, but the drought has taken a toll on this and other natural habitat across the state of California.
