Hello my crafty friends ❤️
Today I’am showing you a Christmas card I made using this amazing “Holiday Words Background” from @simonsaysstamp and the “Chunky Merry” also from @simonsaysstamp and designed by the amazing @czdesign .
For the background I used some @pinkfreshstudio inks and Gold Embossing Powder from @wowembossing .

I made this tag for the challenge:
Simon Says Challenge, Christmas but No Red or Green
simonsaysstampschallenge.blogspot.com/
and...
since I look at this challenge every week but have never entered it, but have always wanted to...I usually end up spending the time browsing the blogs of people who did enter the challenge instead of making anything on my own to enter...fear of failure maybe...anyway, I have been inspired by the Tim Holtz 12 Days of Christmas Tags and decided that if I don't enter this tag into the challenge now, it may never happen! Although, I definitely know it could be improved upon. So, I would also like to enter this into the:
Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge, Show a Lord Tim of Holtz Technique
simonsaysstampandshow.blogspot.com/
I wanted to try edging a tag with a acrylic paint dauber as Tim did in a couple of his Christmas tags. I also wanted to try the resist technique which I had never done before. I first edged the tag with a silver paint dauber, and went ahead and stamped out the music ledgers. Then I stamped the gingham stamp with versamark ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I blended together Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Chipped Sapphire, and edged it with Pumice Stone Distress Ink. For the Tree, I only used Tumbled Glass and edged it with Broken China and Pumice Stone Distress ink. I used a couple Tim Holtz metal items also. I did use the silver paint dauber on the word stick, not as clear as using white but I thought it would go with the silver embossing theme. Oh, and I hammered the brad, which I thought was a pretty cool look! Hope you like it.
Stamps: Unity IB-33 Oh Joy, Impression Obsession CC006 Cover-a-Card Gingham, KaiserCraft CS757 Sheet Music
Misc: Tim Holtz adornments and word sticks and mini pins and fasteners, misc ribbon

I have a photo tutorial and a video sharing how I created the background on this card : shurk.us/ssswed-90
I made this card for the:
Simon Says "Are you all white?!!" Challenge
and
Craft Your Days Away 'All White' Challenge #7
and
A Spoon Full of Sugar 'Snow/Snowflakes' Challenge #129
I hope that it is okay to combine challenges, I have never done this before...
The only thing that was acceptable to have color on the card was any coloring having to do with the stamped image. I choose to do a snow themed card as I just bought the Sizzix Frost Embossing Folder last weekend and was excited to use it. This is also my first time using this stamp as it is also new. The rick rak is supposed to represent a bumpy snow run. I did use diamond stickles to highlight snow droplets and drifts. I stamped my original image onto a patterned piece of paper and colored with colored pencils. The face and brown dog were cut out and pieced from a white piece of paper that I stamped and colored with colored pencils. Then I cut the whole image out and used pop dots to place it on the circle. I was originally thinking the circle would represent a large snowball rolling down a hill but I did not end up fraying the edges or seeing that concept to the end. Hope you like it! I definitely want to do multiple versions, one using polar white flower soft...but once again that was another concept that did not come to fruition.
Stamps: Poppy Stamps 233D Sledding Time
