I think Simon looks a little freaky here - the light catching off his eyes, I think. (Also the fact that his eyes are so wide open.) Still, it was a pretty natural shot - he was already in my lap. All I did was move the screen down a bit (I have a MacBook with integrated camera) and wave my hand just a bit above the camera lens to get his attention.

The other morning, I spotted Simon sitting in the driveway, staring up at a big crow. The crow was making crazy noise, taunting Simon (I guess). They must have sat like that for about 15 minutes.

this is a photo of one of my favorite simon pearce hand-blown glass pieces...the evergreen. the simon pearce shop & restaurant in my hometown announced that it was closing, which is so sad! it was a place of special occasions and celebrations. it's where my family, friends, and i toasted friendship, love, weddings, and babies...

I’m going to miss that delicious vermont cheddar cheese soup, the irish brown bread, the warm, fluffy scones…and of course, sipping champagne out of their gorgeous hand-blown flutes…
