As usual, the photograph absolutely doesn't do the magnitude of this feat justice. Plus Simon's shoes were zip tied closed. Plus he was drunk. Dude's got skills.
Simon got Jeero today from a local shop. I thought we were going to have to get him on e-bay from America, but he showed his friend Jeero on Flickr and his friend said they had them down the road! And they did. He wanted Ugly Deer first of all but when I saw Jeero hanging from a high shelf by a clip on his ear, I got him down and cuddled him and I was thinking of buying him, but then Simon got hold of him and he decided to buy him. He asked how much he was and they said £14.95. We walked around the shop a while and when he went to buy him it was a different assistant, she asked him if he knew how much they were, he told her he knew and she asked if it was for him? He said yes, she said, well, since we haven't got many left, and he needs a good home, I'll let you have him for £7.00. I bet I wouldn't have been that lucky! Simon has his own pictures of Jeero, all ready to go on Flickr tomorrow. All of this is thanks to Austin Sullivan, so thanks Austin, if it wasn't for you we would know nothing at all about ugly dolls. It's strange how you can grow to love them.

Our English Budgie. Simon Victor Scowell. He was named after Simon Cowell of American Idol fame. He was a pet shop save last year. Victor as a middle name as when we saw him, our football team had just won a game after a bit of a losing streak. This is an "after" photo. He had lost all his blue breast feathers and had respiratory issues. He still has a little ways to go. By next year his air sacs should be more recovered than they are quite yet. I love the sound of a trilling/fussing male budgie in the house!
Catterick 1983, 'Lucky' the kitten was found only a couple of days old, tied in a sack and abandoned in a stream. We fed him baby milk with an eye dropper until he was able to feed himself.
