Simba was a realy loved cat. He was born in our home. I still miss him every day. But I try to remember all the fine memoris with him, And that is a nice . <3

Cricket, Houdini, Simba, 5 litter mates and mom were found in a dumpster, locked in a cat carrier and left to die. The kittens were not old enough for their eyes to be open yet. The other 5 kittens have been placed in loving homes.
Simba is a rescue dog that has recently been adopted. His new owner discovered a red small lump under his neck. I collected a fine needle aspirate of the lump and examined it under the microscope. I informed the owner it was most likely a histiocytoma. I gave her the option of confirming the diagnosis by a pathologist and she opted for that. This lump is an allergic type of lump that commonly occurs in young dogs. It can go away on its own. It is crucial to always check it out as it looks identical to a mast cell which is a very nasty type of skin lump in dogs.
My regular vet was closed today but I found one that was open and they were able to get us in. Simba is not microchipped. He is FIV / FeLV negative...yay! He does have ear mites and roundworms. I will call the vet on Wednesday to make an appointment to get him neutered.
We have decided to let the animals meet but so far Simba hasn't left my son's loft bed since we've been back from the vet's office. Hopefully things will go well when he decides it is time to meet.
