I met Simba this morning and got talking. He told me he was from Zimbabwe and that he'd been here a while, i could hear the Ulster accent coming through.
We got talking about the politics of Zimbabwe (as you do) and when i mentioned Mugabe Simba called him cute.
I laughed saying that was the first time i'd heard him described as "cute".
"No no" said Simba "i mean he is cute as in he knows all the political moves".
I knew what he had meant but it was funny to hear the old despot and tyrant described as cute. He is a hateful old bastard who has brought the country to it's knees economically. Zimbabwe used to be known as "basket of Africa" because of it fertile soil. Now it would be better to call it the economic basket case of Africa.
HAPPY FURRY FRIDAY!!
It was so fun visiting with my dear friend, Valerie, on FURRY FRIDAY...so MUCH fun, for we went to her house after lunch to see her beautiful cat, SIMBA! and that means...FLICKR PHOTO OP...for SIMBA is an incrediblly beautiful cat.
Valerie volunteers at the SPCA, animal shelter in San Francisco. Several years ago, she saw this dear cat who it seemed no one would adopt for he was older and somehow acquired a bad rep from a previous owner (who should of received the bad rep!) .
Valerie bonded with SIMBA for he was such a love-kitty . After a LONG time, Valerie took SIMBA home and they have had an incredible lovely bond over the years. SIMBA is affectionate, sweet, very loving, and just an all around beautiful cat. Which goes to show, there are times when a cat may have been given an improper negative classification that has absolutely NOTHING to do with the cat!
May everyone find a loving cat such as SIMBA!

Simba is a rescue dog that has recently been adopted. His new owner discovered a red small lump under his neck. I collected a fine needle aspirate of the lump and examined it under the microscope. I informed the owner it was most likely a histiocytoma. I gave her the option of confirming the diagnosis by a pathologist and she opted for that. This lump is an allergic type of lump that commonly occurs in young dogs. It can go away on its own. It is crucial to always check it out as it looks identical to a mast cell which is a very nasty type of skin lump in dogs.
