Scratchings and rust on the painted surface of an abandoned bridge barrier. No decipherable messages.
I love the look of this living room -- the walls are 'Veil Cream,' a metallic paint by Benjamin Moore -- but sadly, the paint doesn't come highly recommended. Reviewers say it looks much more metallic when applied, and produces a significant ragging effect. Sigh! Trim is Snowfall White, also by Benjamin Moore.

I'd've guessed late 1930s but no it says right here 1945.

Morell Bridge over the Yarra River between South Yarra and Richmond suburbs, Melbourne, Australia.
Originally a vehicle and foot bridge that was closed off to vehicles a few years back and now a pedestrian only crossing to Gosches Paddock and Richmond from Anderson Street, South Yarra.
Happy Painted Tuesday!
See, I told you that this one was going to be a bit more on the spectacular side since it's my last Painted Tuesday for 365. I can't believe that by this time next week I'll have finished the project - a whole year of self portraits.
I think I might continue playing with paints for a bit longer though since it is really fun and I'm still enjoying thinking up new ideas to try out. Right now though I need to go to bed so I can wake up bright and early and continue with all of my study. Not long til my exams now!
The theme was ‘Christmas films’ . This is my take on ‘A Christmas Carol’. Prussian blue acrylic painted background, dotted with silver metallic paint. Stamped music onto paper, ripped the edges then inked & curled the edges to give an aged look. Cut out the carol singers & placed on using foam pads for a bit of dimension.
I am starting to learn how to achieve the best results with my new Yongnuo 35mm f/2 lens. Porsche 911 was a good subject for this purpose. This is a handheld photo taken at 1/10 s exposure.
Tina Turner finished. Commission for a friend. And a challenge for me. 40x60 cmtrs. Pencil and silverpaint (the dress..)
If Katrina looks silver to you in this shot, don't adjust your set. We're on our way back from a seminar hosted by the Annals of Improbable Research people - the ones who give out the Ig Nobel prizes every year - at the annual Boston symposium of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, held at the Sheraton somewhere downtown.
It's a family-outing kind of evening: in lab coat and goggles, I assist her dad with an transfer-of-momentum Moments of Science demo (basketballs, tennis balls my liege), and Katrina, painted silver and bearing a large flashlight, is one of the evening's Human Spotlights.
It is dark and cold, and at first I think we're headed someplace warm and well-lit. When it turns out that we are not, I convince her to stand under a handy streetlight for a minute.
the sky was real :)
I took this about a year ago on my old crappy camera...wish I could go back and get the same moment again with better quality equipment but alas..the moments gone I guess! still one of my very favourite shots...
A missed opportunity here - a palandromic date and I didn't do anything with it!
Instead, you get this rather mundane shot of the rear three quarter panel of my car, which as I was heading into Tesco was showing that it had recently been watched with some nicely formed drops.
Interestingly, it also offered a couple of bright spots, and that I can't quite work out at the moment. The lighting was from the sun, and we haven't suddenly moved to Tatooine. More chin stroking required on that one...
A practice work from last Autumn. It took a lot of searching for a suitable microscope image and then a lot of modification work, to allow for proper sandblasting and silverpainting, plus the 23,5 K gilding of course.
Corel Draw and Comcut programs were used for the design / cutting process.
Plus the skyscrapers of the Flint skyline in the distance.
