I bought this handmade necklace in Thailand & it's a bit uneven but love it because it's not perfect.
this is my first try at focus stacking. I used about 7 images.
Made by my artistic sibling years ago. The focal point is a tiny silver sand dollar that measures half a centimeter or 0.2 inches. Aperture about f/5.
Wanted to avoid blowing highlights and still pick up some reflections from the black surface.

....with their hands in their poster tubes their action figures taken out of the boxes, and on their phones excitedly telling someone they just met THE CREATOR OF SPAWN! Not that there is anything wrong with people just building collections... but come on, it is still cooler to see the people who will actually go home and squeal when they see their loot.=)
On another note, you can see the price my girlfriend pays for going barefoot all day during the convention. I still think the dirty feet go with the clothes... long hair, flowing skirt: full hippie mode. Though the other hippies might kick her out of the circle if they saw the violence inspired art she commissioned.=)
Or you know... a CHARACTER Liam played. Though that could be a new thing, dressing as a guy playing a guy in a movie.=) Now I totally want to do that next year.
Personally I'd think having a ghost fly up your skirt would be a much bigger problem than stepping in something gross or dirty while barefoot... I mean, gooey ghosts are probably clean right?
KIDDING! Of course I wouldn't suggest that... have you seen this girl mad before?! Even wearing a skirt... you DON'T want to go there.=)

Attending a Steampunk picnic in Nottingham, England, presented me with the ideal opportunity to photograph more people for my 100 Strangers project.
With so many people there, the Steampunks, photographers, news reporters, and the curious, it was hard to find somewhere to photograph my stranger without unwanted people appearing in the background. My other challenge was exposure, as the sun was constantly disappearing behind clouds and bursting into view again meaning I had to pay particular attention to the meter so as not to over or under expose the image, especially when my subject was wearing dark or pale colours as I didn’t want to lose detail in their fabulous outfits.
I spotted Charlee from a distance, her hair colour making her stand out from the crowd. A little while later our paths crossed so I wasted no time in asking if she would let me take her portrait for this project. I’d already decided on my background as I felt her hair and the greens of the leaves would make for an eye-catching colour contrast.
Charlee told me she has been into the Steampunk scene for the last three years. She was part of the Great Kentspectations group in Kent where she is from, but now lives in Nottingham. The thing she enjoys most about being a Steampunk is that it allows her to be someone else, her character here being that of Lady Lorelei Elmyra.
Charlee is also a very arty person, enjoying photography and drawing. She reads a lot too. Charlee has no plans for the future but I wish her all the best in whatever path she decides to follow.

With one camera dangling to my side and the other hanging around my neck, I looked the part of a photographer. I kept staring at an individual from afar. I knew I wanted to photograph him. And he noticed that I was looking at him. I was planning in my mind's eye how best to photo him.
I walked up to the man, who was sitting next to his classic Ford pickup. I introduced myself, telling him that I was part of the 100 Strangers project for photographers and asked if I could take his photo.
"I saw you eyeing him. What made you pick him?" the lady sitting to his left asked. The man nodded in agreement to the question.
"You have a very interesting face, beard, and tattoo that I really would enjoy capturing on film," I replied.
"Yeah, he sort of looks like a mean Mr. Clean," said the lady.
We laughed.
"What does that tattoo mean?" I asked the man.
"It is the tattoo from the movie Twilight," came the answer.
"That's interesting," I replied, vaguely remembering that the movie's werewolf clan had some sort of round tattoo. "By the way, my name is Don."
"I'm Andy M., Don."
"Pleased to meet you, Andy."
"Could you stand up for me, Andy, right over here? That's perfect. Thanks."

I had to build this as a composite from three different shots. Usually I wouldn't work that hard to get a show but I really liked this home-made costume. I had to combine the shots because people kept walking by on either side of Sarah and Starscream. As for the costume, I really like it. She has made a Transformer at least two years in a row. Last year she was a G1 Bumblebee. Way cool!

I really wonder if he bought this costume or made it. The Captain Jack in the background is pretty good too. But picking his teeth demoted that complement down a bit. Either way it was really good. Shot at Comic-Con 2008.
